"So what's the plan?" Innocence asked me as I crouched on the edge of the hangar, looking down
"Well I can barely see it from here" I replied "but I reckon I could jump out of this hangar and fight it from above while you head to the teleporter down and fight it head on. If we keep parallel with each other and keep it in the middle it will be more difficult to fight both of us. It's size will be a disadvantage if it has to keep turning. Aim for the joints. That's where it's likely to to have less or no armour. Any way you can find to restrain his legs is a huge advantage to us. Make sure none of its holes are facing you or you'll either get sucked in or blown back. Neither is good. I know it's not much of a plan but it's all I've got right now"
"Well it's as good a plan as any Wolf or Reaper came up with" Innocence said "I'll tell you when I'm at the teleporter" and with that he ran off
"Can I come?" Sky asked
"No you have to stay here okay? Don't move" I told her. She crossed her arms and angry pouted at me
"But I wanna see you fight the monsterrrrrr"
"I know you do Sky but it's too dangerous. Please stay here?"
"Fine. But I hate you" she replied pouting more. I smiled and patted her head
"of course you do" I replied.
"Byte I'm at the teleporter" I heard Innocence say in my earpiece
"Alright. Teleport when I say" I said. I stood up and flexed my shoulders. Zeus started forming all over me. I realised how slim the Zeus suit actually was. It really was like a second skin. My dad said that it was my strongest and most adaptable suit. What did adaptable mean? Suddenly an idea dawned on me. I summoned the Protecter suit and got in it while still in Zeus. Zeus automatically activated and started merging with Protecter instead of me, outputting electricity all the while. The words POWER OVERLOAD flooded the stats tab on my display. "Stats" I said. My vision filled with charts and bars and percentages. My elctrobs power had increased by 500%, my armour by 200%, my agility by 400% and my speed by 350%. Pretty cool. I dismissed my stats display and looked at my hands. I realised that combined the two suits also changed the suits colour. The Protectors usual colours were white, yellow red and black, however the white had been replaced by shiny chrome and the yellow replaced by gold. Electricity was arcing across the suit randomly. Looking back at my display I say the word ZEUS in the bottom left corner and just below it a shield icon with the number 100% in it. Wait that wasn't there before. Did I have a some sort of shield now? Dad really thought of everything.
"Byte you good up there?" I heard Innocence ask
"Yeah. Yeah sorry I was upgrading my suit. I'm about to jump." I replied. I stood on the edge of the hangar then jumped out. I activated my quad thrusters and immediately broke the sound barrier, shooting downwards at a speed faster than I'd ever gone before. The ground rushed up to meet me. I had breaking cloud cover already? Amazing. Then I saw our enemy. It was just walking around in the field we camped in not hours before.
"Innocence, teleport on my mark" I said. I had to get its attention. I slowed down to a hover and stretched my right palm towards the Armoured Gaia. "Electrorb" I said. The orb of electricity surging from my palm. It was faster than before. It impacted the Gaia on its chest and exploded. The Gaia groaned and staggered back, however the armour remained untouched. The Gaia fixed its cold white eyes on me and roared in fury. Well I think i got its attention. Yet to determine if that was a good thing or not. The Gaia swiped its arm at me. I flew below the arm, and flew parallel to it, flying past the Gaia and sending two more electrorbs into the Gaia's back. Still no damage on the armour. Expected. The Gaia turned around to swipe at me again. I ducked under the arm and said "Innocence, now" I said. I saw a blue flash out of the corner of my eyes and two seconds later, an explosion rocked into existence on the back of the Gaia's left shoulder. It staggered forward, towards me. A flap opened on each the Protecter armours shoulders and twenty concussive missiles shot out, covering the Gaia's front in explosions. It roared in pain and fell onto its back. Suddenly I heard a shout. I saw Sin rushing towards the Gaia, both Shifter weapons taking the form of long blades. Sin pointed them at the ground and they both curled into huge springs. Sin pressed them into the ground and couched, making the springs compress. He then jumped. The power released from the springs shot him straight into the air. Suddenly the Gaia's gaze snapped onto Sin as he jumped towards it
"Sin! No!" I shouted but it was too late. With a surprising amount of speed the Gaia's left hand backhanded Sin away and send him flying. I flew towards him and grabbed him by the arm before he hit the ground.
"You okay?" I asked
"Fine" Sin replied. Suddenly a huge shadow loomed over us. I looked up and saw the Gaia's palm facing us, the hole in it a black void.
"If I can withstand this, it should give my Bounce Back enough power to do serious damage to this guy" Sin said
"If you withstand it" I replied. Suddenly all the air was ripped out of my lungs as the Gaia started sucking it in through the hole on its palm. Sin and I were lifted off of our feet and we flew towards the void at alarming speed.
"All reserve power to thrusters" I said. I activated my quad thrusters and tried to fly against the force pulling us in, the thrusters at Max power. However I had only slowed myself. Even with Zeus my thrusters weren't strong enough to overcome the force of this creature. Suddenly the force holding me ceased. I rapidly readjusted my thrusters to stop me flying straight into the ground and looked up. The Gaia's palm was still facing us. Oh no.
"Sin! He's about to release all of that air straight back at us!" Sin let go of the tree he was holding onto and instead of running just stood there. "Sin!" I repeated
"I'll take it all" Sin said. He couldn't be serious
"Sin you'll die!" I shouted. A smirk came across his face
"We'll see" he said, then readied himself. I flew out from under the palm and up the Gaia's arm, hammering it with missiles but to no success. The armour was just too durable. Suddenly the Gaia roared and I heard an incredibly loud whoosh as the pressurised air came surging out of the Gaia's palm. "Sin!" I shouted but my voice was drowned but the noise of the air hitting the ground. It almost sounded like a bomb going off continuously as the air pounded against the ground and Sin. When the Gaia has run out of air, the sound was still ringing in my ears "Sin?" I asked. I couldn't see him. All I saw was a thin crater than was perfectly round, almost like a tunnel, going straight into the earth. It went so far down I couldn't see the bottom. All trees in the vicinity that been flattened and utterly destroyed. I couldn't see Sin or Innocence anywhere. Was he dead? No way. Not him. Suddenly a blunt force smashed into my left side. Red alerts flashed all over my display as the shield stat was instantly reduced down to zero. I was sent flying, crashing straight into the ground. Ow. "Damage report" I said. A diagram of my suit flashed up on my display, the parts that were damaged flashing red. Then I saw an option I'd never seen before. It read ACTIVATE ZEUS RECOVERY. Why not? "Activate Zeus recovery" I said. Suddenly sparks started flying all over my body as the Zeus suit started slowly repairing the Protector. Thanks dad. But it would take too long. I looked up at the Gaia. It was looming over me. It had such power. And with that armour it had great defence and attack, with its speed way faster than I initially thought. I couldn't beat this thing on my own. No way. I needed time to recover. Suddenly a white beam hit the Gaia on the left shoulder. "Oi!" I heard a voice shout from the crater the Gaia made"pick on someone you're own fucking strength!" Suddenly Sin came flying out of the crater. His fist ready. "Bounce Back!" He shouted, then punched the Gaia in the chest. The impact was colossal, blowing me back a few meters and sending the Gaia reeling onto its back, the armour on its chest cracked hard. I stared in awe. Even Wolf would have trouble matching that punch. I was brought back when the words ZEUS RECOVERY COMPLETE flashed across my screen. Nice. I activated my quad thrusters and was immediately back in the air, looking down on the Gaia that was sprawled on its back. I aimed at at the crack in its armour "Protector suit: Offensive Overload" I said. All the weapons hidden in my suit came out and fired at the crack. Lasers, electrobs, missiles, rockets, grenades, everything. The Gaia roared in pain. It shook violently for a few seconds then came to rest, motionless. I let out a sigh of relief and hovered back down to the ground, exiting the Protector armour and wiping sweat from my forehead. We'd done it.
