It hurts because it matters - John Green

After my doctor helped me into my room I laid down and continued to stare up at the ceiling for a while. I didn't want to sleep, even though I was practically asleep for 7 years I was so tired I felt like I could sleep for 7 years.

That night I was in both physical and mental pain. Something about Jack made me want to be with him more and more. But I don't know why.

I couldn't sleep.

As I slept my body was asleep but my mind was awake. As I slept I could see a doctor not my doctor drink alcohol and then walk into a room with a large table and lots of tools.

Then suddenly there was an old woman lying on the table. The doctor walked up to the table and starting operating on the old woman.

The doctor started to trip over his own feet, he was drunk and he couldn't do the procedure. He started using sharp tools on the woman.

Her screams echoed through my brain. The blood forever captured in my mind.

The doctor wouldn't stop, I tried to control the tools he was holding but, before I could stop the doctor my eyes changed direction to a boy watching the procedure through a glass wall.

The boy was Jack.

I woke up to a living nightmare. The old woman was Jack's Grandmother.
