Johns POV
I woke up early rubbing my eyes, I felt my arm pinned in place I look down to see my pretty Beth sound asleep with her little fragile hands resting on my chest, I smiled and slowly got up pulling a pair of black shorts on with a tank top. I walked to the door opening it and shutting it quietly.
I stepped into my office sitting on my comfy chair and sorted through paperwork. A couple of hours later and no movement from Beth, "Probably recovering from last night" I smile sipping a glass of cold water, Paint bursts through the door, I spit out the water in my mouth and look at her. "what's wrong?" I ask going over to her.
"Beth...I went in to see if she wanted to go hunting. She had no covers over her and I saw her back..." she pants
"what about her back ?" I ask standing up as I felt Toby worry in my head
"its covered in scars and a big one down her spin" she whimpers looking down
I close my eyes before walking back into the bedroom, I stop in my tracks staring at Beth's bare back coated in a blanket of scars.
Beth's POV
*dream*
I kneel against the cold floor facing the wall feeling every slash of the knife Pierce my skin.
"you stupid girl I said to say in your room!" my father yells he hands the knife to my brother who kneels behind my placing the tip of the blade at the top of my neck and started dragging it down my back.
*end of dream*
I woke up to my body being shaken, I stare through water logged eyes at a figure that felt like John, I tugged at his top and he pulled me into a hug and held me there talking softly but I couldn't understand it through my crying, I pulled back looking at him as he whips away my tears with his gentle thumb.
I pulled on a top and hoodie and walked out into the garden and sat on the swing hanging from a tree. I look round it was quiet, I hummed softly before singing quietly:

I opened my eyes to see a little cub sitting in front of my listening happily swaying to it, "Hey Lucy" I smile looking at her she smiles looking at me, Lucy was selectively mute but was an amazing cub.
I looked up "might wanna go find your mother before it hales" I suggested as she nodded running to find her mum
"Luna!!"Tod yelled from the door "its John he's just collapsed!" he yelled, I got up and raced over I skidded to a stop in the kitchen where johns still body lay on the floor. I walked to him and kneeled next to him, there was a smashed plate on the floor with a piece of meat on it, I went to touch it as I put my finger on It I felt pain I pulled away quickly "wolf bane! get him to the ward now!" I growled, everyone looked at each other before moving and picking him up gently and walking to an empty room with his limp body placing him on the white sheets as the doctor starts looking him over, I watch carefully listening to the heart monitor beeping, the doctor nodded "you are correct Luna, its wolf bane"
"will he make it?" I asked scared of the answer
"hopefully we should flush out his system to get rid of it" he smiled softly
"do it he's needed to lead this pack" I nod looking at my mate's face
Tallaugh felt scared and worried and so did I.
I waited an hour whilst they flushed out his system he came back still sleeping put looking less in pain now it was a waiting game for his wolf to heal the damage that had been done, I sat thinking whilst I read a book could he had gotten mixed up with the wolf bane meat used for the traps instead of the normal meat the pack eat?
