Chapter2

We drove down the street and arrived at KLPH by 11:40. The Pack house was like a rec center. All the teens came here on weekends or after school to have fun. We set up in the aux hall and then I left to go find grandpa. I went straight to the one place I knew he'd be the Alphas office. I knocked on the door.

"Come in." Said Alpha Dalton in a husky business like tone.

"Oh it's you Kenny, I thought it might be Lena coming to see if I was actually working" he laughed. Alpha Dalton was my fathers bestfriend and my god father, he has been calling me Kenny since when I played T-ball and the announcer said Kenny was up to bat instead of Kenzie, I guess it just stuck with him. Lena was his Mate and the Luna, he always goofed off and she would have to check in on him or his work would never get his work done.

"Kenzie where's your grandma, did she bring the cookies?" My grandpa said getting up to hug me.

"She's in the aux hall setting up, and yeah I swiped some for you and uncle Dalton." I said handing him the plate of cookies I had took before I left.

"Score!!" Uncle Dalton said grabbing at them. He may have been 30 but he was still like a kid.

"Anyway Gramps do I have to go to the party? You already know how people are going to be acting I don't want to be grabbing and sobbed on." I groaned sitting in the swivel chair in front of uncle Dalton's desk.

"Yes you have to be there as daughter of our late Alpha and Luna you have to be there to honor them, you know that" he said cramming a cookie in his mouth. So much for him letting me off the hook. Uncle Dalton turned the Tv back on and they continued to watch the football game.

'We could just sneak out before the party ya know' my wolf said.

I raised my eyebrow thinking about the pros and cons of that plan and when more pros than cons popped into my head I settled on that. My wolf was smart. I got up and said goodbye to both my grandpa and uncle. Then went to the training room. This was my favorite place it's where we learned to fight in our human forms while the training grounds just a little ways behind the pack house is where we learned to fight in our wolf forms.

I was just about to practice some moves when I heard my name.

"Mackenzie where have you been!"

I turned to see my bestfriend Kim coming my way. She was the same skin tone as me and had orangey tan curly hair, with blueish green eyes she was basically like my cousin she was uncle Dalton's daughter.

"I was helping set up then I went to go say hi to uncle Dalton and grandpa." I said going to give her a hug.

"Oh well it's noon the meetings about to start." She grabbed my hand and pulled me to the aux room and then we took our seats. We sat next to Adam, Kim's mate, Ben, Jessie, Allison, and Becka. The Alpha made his way to the podium on the stage and my grandpa, grandma, and Luna Lena sat in the chairs behind him. He began to explain that schedules for patrol would be changing because of school coming back, the conditions of tonight party, and how he expected us (the teenagers) to act as model citizens when we went back to school.

After the meeting was over we had a few hours to kill before the party so we all piled into Adams pickup truck and made our way down to the beach, like we usually did on lazy days. When we got there we just grabbed some blankets and began building a bonfire waiting for the party to come.

'Let's just slip out before Alpha starts talking.' My wolf said obviously not wanting to be here either. We can't people will see. I though back to her. We waiting by the pastry table. I heard someone tap on the mic and thought this is our chance. I inched my way toward the door watching as people neared the stage. A few more steps and I would be home free, just as Alpha began talking I was out the for and sprinting for the training grounds. When I got there I hopped the fence and began walking to sector 10. The training ground was split into 10 different sectors depending on your skills and ability you were placed, if you showed improvement you were moved to a harder sector.

My sector was 7 but I usually came and practiced at 10 when ever I snuck out at night. When I got to sector 10 I removed my clothes not bothering to go behind a tree or anything because u was alone. Then I began shifting, it was amazing the feel of heat radiating off my body it felt freeing. Once I had shifted I let my wolf being to take over as we ran the obstacles. After about an hour of full out training I decided to take a break so went of to a tree and laid down with my head on my paws.

'Why can't we just practice in sector ten when we are training with everyone else?' My wolf asked me.

I sighed and answered, "because nobody in sector 10 is a teenager, it's all of our packs best fighters, what would I look like in there with them? I'm better off sticking to my age group."

'But your so much better than them' she whined.

"Ehh" was all I said as we went back to resting

That's when I heard a clapping sound.
