One-Shot #8- L Lawliet: Better Than Candy Sweets

You tapped your fingers on the metal push cart filled with sweets as you stood behind it, completely bored out of your mind. Ryuzaki was studying videos of some kind that could relate to Kira. You huffed. You wanted to catch Kira too, but you wouldn't stay up to 5 in the morning to do it. That either shows L is really dedicated to catching him or you're not motivated enough to what L does. You ran your fingers through your waist long obsidian hair and rubbed your eyes. Your were getting tired.

"You can go to sleep if you feel tired, Agent Rosie." L said not looking away from the screen.

"It's fine." You said to him. "I'm planning on staying up with you. In case you find something."

"Oh? Then why not try eating some sweets? They're good for keeping you up." He explained.

You looked at the sweets laying on the push cart and frowned. Sweets always made you sleepy. At least when you were little. Still, you weren't going to take a chance. "I'll get coffee." You then left the room.

When you came back, you spotted the sweets covered push cart near L at the computer screens. You sighed and walked up to him, stirring your coffee with each step.

"Found anything yet?" You decided to ask. You stood next to L as his eyes were still kept glued to the screens.

"Nope. Nothing yet." He said as he ate a piece of strawberry cake.

Your eyes wondered from the screens on the wall to the black haired man sitting like a bird in his seat. And then to the empty plates that were filled with desserts. Why does he eat so many sweets? Why does he sit like a perched bird? Why does he have those dark bags under his eyes? Does he ever sleep? Ever since you met L, or Ryuzaki, lots of questions ran through your head about him. He peaked your interest for some strange reason. You even wondered one time if he was a good kisser by how he managed to tie two cherry stems together. But you quickly got rid of that question from your brain the moment you thought of it.

"Hey Rosie," L said. You snapped out of your thoughts when he said your name. "I see you always drinking coffee. Does it taste good?"

You raised an eye brow at him. "If you're a first timer than it would taste bitter at first. Especially when you don't put any sugar in it."

"So tell me then, is it better than candy sweets?" L turned towards you.

"Well it depends on the timing." You looked at your coffee and stirred it a little. There was a short moment of silence.

"I see." He went back to looking at the screens. You took a sip of your coffee. "Are you a good kisser, Agent Rosie?"

You almost choked on your coffee at the sudden question. "Wh-what?"

You stared shocked at him. He just turned his chair in your direction with no change in facial features. "You alright? You want my strawberry?" He lifted the strawberry off his cake with his index finger and thumb and lifted it towards you as he held the spoon in his mouth.

"No I don't!" You yelled with a slight blush spreading your face and then quickly covered your mouth. The other agents were sleeping next door.  "Why would you ask such a question, Ryuzaki!" You whispered yelled at him.

"I was only asking. Last week I saw you staring at me while I tied two cherry stems together so I just wanted to ask." He said, eating the strawberry he offered to you. "Which, mmm, leads me to another question." He chewed the strawberry as he spoke. "Is a kiss better than candy sweets?"

Your face reddened at the question. Why would he ask that? He was really a strange person. "M-My question would have to be like the coffee one. It depends on the timing." You answered after some thought. Another short moment of silence rolled in before L spoke.

"I guess I see your point." He turned back to the screens and continued to stare at them.

After a few hours had passed, you were knocked out on the couch. Looks like coffee didn't help you at all. L turned around in his chair and looked at you, all curled up into a ball as you slept. He glanced over at the screens before getting out of his chair and walking over to you. He looked at you for a short few minutes before leaning down and kissing you on the cheeks. You rolled over.

"Guess it does depend on the timing." He said before sliding his thumb across his lips and heading over to the computer screens where a fruit parfait was waiting for him.
