Monday 6:35am
Oyinda's POV"The weekend goes so fast... I hate Mondays " she murmured to herself
Oyinda never goes to the bathroom without her phone. "MUSIC IS LIFE" she shouts before heading towards the bathroom.
Normally Susan would have shouted "shut up" but I didn't hear that today.
Susan hasn't been home since Thursday. It's getting to bother me. Trying to recall our last conversation.
"Oyinda I'm leaving"
"What??... At 12:30am. Are you insane. Get your butt back here young lady."Oyinda is like a senior sister to Susan. She is older than her with 4years. When she took her in, she promised her Granny to take care of her. Susan and her brother, Michael, lost both parents in a plane crash. Susan blamed herself because they were flying over for her convocation. Micheal being older, assured her that it wasn't but Susan was stubborn. She suffered depression for two years till her Granny took her in...but she slowly recovered. Now she says she is over it but I still get worried. We all do.
"But Oyin...I don't want to stay in this house all day" she argued
"Alright... Where are you going to?"
"A friends party"
"Where is it at?" I asked her.
"Gosh is this the twenty questions game?... It is at Ikeja" she said rolling her eyes
"You have till 9am tomorrow. Take your car o...I don't think buses will be waiting for you by this time"
Before she left she shouted "I love you"
I just smiled. Knowing if I replied she wouldn't hear because she was already gone.
"That girl" I said shaking my headThat was the last conversation we had.
"I'm in love with the shape of you ,we push and pull like a magnet do. Although my heart is falling too..." singing in my soprano voice.
Susan always said I should drop law and pick up music. I love law but for flip sake music is everything."Good morning ma" Amber greeted in her high pitched voice. If I ever thought of dropping law ,she is following me into the music industry
"Morning dear. Have you seen any trace of it"
She shook her head
" thanks"I called Susan for the twelfth time this morning. About to become thirteenth,. I heard a weary voice at the end of the line. "Hello"
"Gosh...Suzy where are you ?" I practically shouted.
"Oyin?"sounding weak.
"Yes it's me... where are you now."
"It's a long story. Can you come pick me up" she dropped the Address and hung up. That's when I noticed I was in tears. I could guess the situation but I didn't want to think about the worst yet. That brought me to the time I was still staying with my mum.
"Oyin sit " when mother says sit, I know I have to stop whatever I was doing and listen attentively.
"You know I love you"
"Yes mother" I answered though I knew it was more of a statement than a question.
"No matter hard a situation might be, don't think of the worst till it happens"
I was confused. she noticed and said "ask"
"Why mother?"
She shifted and looked outside the window then back at me.
"Thinking of the worst only bring more pains my dear."
"Okay mother" though I was still confused, I concurred."Ma...are u okay?" Amber's voice brought me back to reality. .
"Oh yes. I will be leaving now. I need to get some things done. Cancel all my appointments for today." I said and hurried out of the office.
