What the héll did that mean? That I'm a tease?

Obviously, Hailee, Kyle likes you back. His ego is too big to admit it.

Why does my conscious talk to me?

I'm here to help you, duh.

What?

Hailee, don't go far with Erik. Kyle likes you. He has to have more time though.

I'm officially crazy.

Not crazy, remember, people are saner when they talk things out first.

Yeah, probably with real people.

I kinda am real. I'm inside you.

I'm gonna ignore you now.

You can't. I'm the little voice in your head you listen to. I'm the one you have when everyone bails.

Shut up. Ok? Sure, I need you. There. I said it. But, Kyle doesn't like me. He's made it clear.

Puh-lease. You can't spot sarcasm can you? You can't tell when someone is acting. Trust me. Stop with Erik and try with Kyle. Just try.

Stupid conscious. Erik's nice though. I'm gonna take it slow with him first.

I was having this conversation with my conscious in front of my mirror. I was wearing a blue dress. Strapless, of course. It hugged my upper body and clung to me all the way down until it stopped at mid-thigh. At the end of the dress, it was laced until my knees. I had on black simple pumps. I curled my blonde hair and put a Bobby Pin on the side to get it out of my face. I applied light make up and scurried down the stairs. He said 7:00 pm, it was 7:30 pm.

I was sitting on the couch watching reruns of romances. Eating the tub of cookie dough ice cream, I glanced at the time. Midnight. Wow, Ive been cryin for some time.

Sex in the city popped up. "You didn't get stood up tonight. You're there with your "Mr. Perfect".

I turned the channel.

"I finally found out that I wanted you and not him."

"You didn't get stood up, you actually had someone love you and go back to you."

I turned it again.

"...forever hold your peace." The preacher said. "I do!" A man came running into the church.

"And you had someone run to you during your wedding! If that's not love, then I don't know." I yelled, and I turned the TV off. There was a soft knock on the door. Hesitantly, I answered it.

"Hey." Kyle said.

"Hi, what are you doing here?"

"I heard yelling...Hailee, is everything okay?"

I walked away from the door leaving it wide open for him to walk in.

"Yeah, everything's peachy." I plopped down on the couch and Kyle sat down beside me.

"Hailee, talk to me."

"Talk. Talk. Talk. Talk. Talk. Tal-"

"Hailee. You know what I meant."

"Fine." I wiped my tears. "I said I would go out with Erik tonight and he didn't show. I texted him multiple times and called him several. Noting. No reply." I wiped my eyes again.

"Damñ. I'm sorry."

"Oh well. This is not the first time I've been stood up. I just thought it wouldn't have been him to stand me up."

"Hailee, no one is perfect-"

"You're siding with him?!"

"What? No!"

"Sure sounds like it!"

"Hailee," he took a deep breath. "Listen, no one is perfect but I want to make it up to you for his mistake."

"You don't have to."

"I want to."

"Don't stand me up."

"I would never." He took my hand. "Lets get you to bed."

"Woah! You haven't even bought me dinner yet!" I joked. He laughed.

"Come on. Do you wanna walk or shall I carry you?" He smirked.

"Carry."

His eyes widen. But nonetheless, he bent down to my waist and put my stomach on his shoulder. He stood up and I was no longer touching the ground.

"I hope I'm not to heavy."

"Yeah, you should slow down on the eating little one!" He joked. I slapped his bottom.

"Want me to hit yours?" He didn't when wait for my reply, he slapped my a$$.

"Kyle!"

"It was only fair, Shortcake."

"Whatever you say, Custard."

"Hey! What happened to Pupcake?"

"Hopefully, dead." He chuckled.

"Did you kill him?"

"Sadly, no."

"Whatever." He carried me up the stairs and into my room.

"Set me down on my bed, please."

He set me down on my bed. I turned around on my bed so I was on my stomach and crawled my way to my pillow. He tucked me under the covers.

"Can you get me some comfy clothes to sleep in?" He walked over to my dresser, pulled out some comfy plaid shorts and went to his room. A second later he came back with a black T-shirt.

"I have T-shirts."

"This ones going to be a lot more comfy."

I shrugged and he threw me the clothes. Under the covers, I took off my dress. I brought it up from under the covers and threw it on the ground.

"See, you're teasing me again." Kyle ran his fingers through his hair.

"How?"

He took a deep breath. "Hailee, I'm going to go right out and say it. You're a tease. I-I try to forget about you but I can't."

"Why do you try to forget about me?"

"Because! You don't do "Guys like me." So, I try to get over you but I can't. I fúcking can't do it."

"What are you saying?"

"What am I saying?!" He was yelling now. "Hailee, God!" He pinched the bridge of his nose. "Forget it."

"No, I wanna know." I sat up, holding the blanket to my chest, covering my boobs.

"You wanna know?"

"Yea-"

"Then I'll show you."

He rushed over to my side and harshly planted his lips on mine. He moved on top of me, his legs over mine. He moved his lips at a slow pace and I rushed us. For some reason, I wanted more.

"Hailee...I can't." Kyle spoke.
