Chapter 18: I belong

Chapter 18~

I woke up and shivered. Considering I was laying flat on a freezing cold floor, still alive, I think things could be worse. I obviously had no idea where I was, it definitely wasn't the factory  I was in last time. I stood up slowly, wondering when I when I will get a blind sided attack. But instead, I heard the clacking of high heels, on this cold floor. The sound echoed through my ears and the empty building.

Cornie then appeared infront of me. Her face showered anger, but in her hand, I noticed the sining sterling silver bladed knife. Her eyes were watery, clearly she had been crying lately. I only killed her partners... what was the big deal?

"Why? why is it everytime I find good people, someone always comes along and kills them?!" her voice screaked.

"Well..." I started.

"No! One of them was my mate!" her eyes were like daggers.

"I'm sorry-"

"You will be. I'm going to kill you, take your power and then Travis will have to suffer. All of this has happened because of You." Her voice vibrated through me. My heart started to hurt. It really is all my fault.

"You keep talking about my power, but I don't have any! Atleast, I haven't had any yet..." I was confused.

"You need to be in pain to activate your power...so..." She flung the knife at me. It was to late to move before it plunged deep into my gut. I winced in pain. I pulled the knife out and noticed something, other than my blood, on the blade.

"What...-" I was cut off. I was out of breath.

"Poison. You think I'd do this the long way? Ha!" She laughed, stepping towards me. I backed away, hugging my stomach. "In a matter of minutes the change will happen, and I'll steal your soul along with your power!"

My head was spinning. My lungs felt heavy, suddenly breathing became impossible. My throat was closing. My heard was skipping a beat. I started hearing a voice in my head. "Trust your wolf, Riley." I felt my eyes open wide and a sharp pain in my eyes. Suddenly my body shifted into my black wolf. I felt my claws growing longer. My teeth sharpening. My wolf started howling. I have no control over my body. I felt pain in my face as my fur on my face, turned white as snow.

"Yes! It's happening!" Cornie yelled. The blood from my wound spilt on the floor.

"Cornie!" I heard someone yell. I turned my head, well my wolf did. It scared me who was there. Chandak, and the guys. Travis stood out the most. Why was he out of the hospital?

"You're to late! She's changing now!" Her awful laugh echoed through my ears. My wolf let out a painful howl.

"Oh god, Riley..." I heard Travis say. "I'm going to kill you!" He yelled at Cornie now.

"No! RIley will kill you as well if you move." Chandak stopped him.

My wolf was quiet now. The pain in my guy was sharp. She layed down softly and closed her eyes. the laugh got closer, and so did the high heel clacking. The pain increaed. my eyes shot open. "Kill" my wolf whispered. She lept off the ground and tackled Cornie to the ground. She looked her in the eyes. Cornie's pain showed through her eyes. I saw the reflection of my now, golden bronze eyes. Suddenly, my wolf attacked. I smelt the blood of her now. And noticed her bloody, dead, half eaten body.

My head snapped over to all the guys. I wasn't sure whether my wolf knew who they were or not. She growled, baring her teeth at them. Walking closer and closer to them. The guys tensed. I noticed Travis walking closer to me. The guys called him back but he kept going.

"No! Travis she will kill you!" Chandak yelle to him.

"I have to try! She's my mate! I love her..." He stared staight at me. Suddenly he shifted into his large grey wolf. He walked closer slowly and I did the same. I caught his scent then. Travis. My wolf finally knew who he was. She jumped and tackled him to the ground. Suddenly my gut stopped bleeding. My eyes went back to normal. My fur turned to it's natural black coat.

Travis lad still on the ground. His wolf was calm. I started to lick his face. I felt myself gain control again. "Love." My wolf whispered. Travis shifted, and so did I. I was wrapped in his embrace. I've never felt so safe in my life. Here in his arms.

"Riley, I'm so glad you're safe." Travis whispered into my ear.

"I love you." I whispered back.

"I love you more..."

"Riley!" All the guys cheered loudly. I looked at them, then Chandak. He smiled and nodded at me. This is where I belong.
