Short Story #1

*Aphmau's p.o.v.*

I put my dress on. My hair was in a dutch braid crown and my makeup was done.

Tonight was the school's mascarade party.

A mascarade party was basically a party where everybody has a mask.

I put my white mask on.

Someone knocked on my door. 'Miss Lordé ,' the butler came in.

'Hello Wayne ,' I said.

'You look stunning ,' he smiled.

'Thank you ,' I said.

'Your date is here ,' he said. I nodded. I put my flower in my hair.

He gently placed my hand on his and escorted me downstairs.

I saw my date. My best friend. Aaron Lycan. He was wearing a red velvet tux and he had a black mask on.

He had a purple rose in the pocket of his tux.

'My lady ,' he bowed. I smiled and blushed.

Truth is , I liked him. More than a friend. For the five years we've been friends , I never told him how I felt. I was always afraid of how it would affect our friendship.

'Stay safe Miss Lordé. And you are allowed to stay out as late as you wish ,' Wayne said.

'Thank you Wayne ,' I said. He smiled.

Aaron held his hand out and I took it.

We went to his car. He opened the door for me. 'Thank you kind sir ,' I said. He chuckled.

He drove us to school.

'Are you excited My Lady ?' He asked.

'Very . Kind sir ,' I said. We laughed.

'You look beautiful tonight Aph ,' he said. I blushed.

'T-thanks ,' I said. We reached school.

We got out. He held my hand as we went in.

A guy wearing a black and white tux with brown hair and blue eyes approached me.

'My Lady. May I have this dance ?' He asked. I had an idea who he was.

I looked at Aaron. He was frowning a little. I looked back at the dude standing infront of me.

'Sorry Sir. I would prefer to dance with someone else ,' I said.

'One dance ,' he said. I clinged onto Aaron's arm.
'Shall we ?' I asked. He was blushing a little.

'Yes My Lady ,' he said. He grabbed my hand and lead me to the dance floor.

He puts his hands on my waist. I wrap my arms around his neck.

'Aph. Why didn't you want to dance with the most popular guy in school ?' Aaron asked. I giggled.

'And waste my first formal dance on someone I barely know ? I rather use it with you ,' I said. I blushed. He did too.

'Thank you for making this the most amazing night for me ,' he said.

'I should be thanking you ,' I said. We smiled.

We continued dancing as songs played.

All About Us by He Is We started playing. It's both of our favourite song.

I gazed into his beautiful midnight eyes. I fell in love with them.

We bump into a blue haired girl and a white haired guy. Katelyn and Travis.

'Travlyn is so happening right now ,' I whispered to Aaron. He chuckled.

We danced. Aaron dipped me in the end. I couldn't resist. I placed my lips against his. His lips felt soft and warm. I felt him kiss me back.

We paused and looked at each other. He led me outside to the school garden.

'I'm so sorry Aaron ,' I said. Embarrased.

'Aphmau ,' he took of my mask. He took off his mask.

He cups my chin and leans in. He pressed his lips against mine. I felt the warm and soft lips.

Explosions were happening in my stomach.

I realized what we were doing. I pulled away. 'Aaron. I can't do this ,' I said.

He frowned. 'What's wrong ?' He asked.

'You're my best friend. I don't want to ruin it ,' I said.

'Aph. It's fine ,' he said. He leaned in again but I pulled away.

'What if we break up ? What's going to happen to us ?' I asked.

'Aph ,' he cups my chin. 'You were the most amazing thing that happened to me. When I was mad or sad or stressed , you knew how to cheer me up. I've kept my feelings for you fearing that you can't return them. Now I know how you feel. You feel the same. I mean this when I say it. I will never stop loving you ,' he said.

I wrap my arms around his neck and he puts his arms on my waist. He leans in and kissed me. I kissed him back.

'I love you so much Aphmau ,' he whispered.

'I love you Aaron ,' I said.

He looked at me. 'It would be my honour to call you my girlfriend ,' he said.

I kissed him. 'Of course ,' I said. We smiled.
