Short Story #9

* Aphmau's p.o.v *

I looked at myself in the mirror. I sighed.

'You look beautiful Princess ... or should I say Queen ,' Father said.

'Thank you Father ,' I said. I took a deep breath.
This happens to every princess. They don't have the choice.

The princess I saw in the mirror was this gorgeous princess and happy to be with a prince. The princess I am is the princess who is in love with her knight.

Knowing father , I couldn't tell him. If I did , his head will get decapitated. 

'I'm sorry Aaron ,' I muttered.

'Shall we ?' Father asked. I put on my veil.

'Yes father ,' I said. We linked arms and went down the stairs.

The music started playing. 'King Apophis and soon to be Queen Elena !' The butler announced. Everybody clapped.

At the end was Prince Garroth.  I loath him. He hit me , touched me and so on.

'Keep your head high ,' Father said. I raised my head and smiled. 

We reached the end. He let go of my hand. Garrith grabbed it tightly.  I flinched.

'Stop flinching ,' he muttered. I nodded.

'We are gathered here today to join Princess Elena of Olympia and Prince Garroth of O'khasis in marriage.  'The priest turned to Garroth.

'Do you Prince Garroth. Accept the responsibility a king. To run your kingdom fairly and at its best. Accept the responsibility as a husband , to love and to care for through thick and thin. Till death do you part ?'

'I do ,' he said.

'Do you Princess Elena. Accept the responsibility as Queen of Olympia and stand by your king as yoy rulre. To accept the responsibility as a wife to care for his needs till death do you part ?'

'I-I-I do ,' I said.

'Would anyone like to object to their marriage ? If not , forever hold your peace - ' Someone barged in the door.

'I object !' He yelled. I turned to see Aaron. He had cuts and scars on his face. He was filthy. His hair had dirt and filth in them. His eyes filled with sorrow and despair. 

'Aaron. 'I said smiling.

'Aphmau Elena Persephone Divine. 'He said. 'I had loved you eversince I laid my eyes on you. I do not care if I am only a knight. I will protect you forever and always ,' he said.

'Guards ! Take him away !' King Esmund yelled.

'If any of you dare to lay a finger on him ! 'I yelled.  They stopped. All eyes on me.

Garroth grabbed me and put a knife to my throat. 'Sorry my sweet but this ceremony has to come to an end ,' he said.

'Elena !' Father yelled. O'khasis guards chained him to his seat. 

'Aphmau !' Aaron drew his sword.

'One step closer and off with her head !' Garroth yelled.

I couldn't take it anymore. My eyes started glowing. 'Evil shall never rise good shall never fall !' I transformed into my Queen Persephone , Queen of the Underworld form.

'To Tarturus you fall to earth you shall never rise !' I blasted Garroth with my sword. He disappeared. 

King Esmund had his sword to my father's neck. 'One move and off with his head !' He yelled. Aaron snuck behind him and stabbed him. He fell and disappeared. 

I deformed and landed on the ground. 'Aphmau !' Aaron ran to me and hugged me.

'Aaron. The baby ,' I whispered. He nodded and let go.

I got pregnant with Aaron's baby ten weeks ago. Emmalyn told me I couldn't form as it wasn't good for the baby.

'Sweetie ,' dad ran to me and hugged me tight.

'Father. 'I said. He let me go. Aaron helped me up.

'I have something to announce ,' I said.

He looked at me curious. 

'I'm madly in love with my guard , Aaron Lycan ,' I said loudly.  Everybody gasped.

Father looked at him. Examining him. 'I should be furious and send him to the dungeon but I give you my blessing. Take care of my daugther Aaron ,' he said.

'Thanks you King Apophis ,' he said.

'Thank you Father ,' I curtseyed.

'This is absurb !' Someone yelled. It was Prince Laurence of Meteli. 

'A comrade and a princess cannot be together !' He yelled.

'Guards !' Father ordered.
'Do you want to tell him the other thing ?' Aaron asked.

'Let's show him ,' I said.

'King Apophis ,' Aaron said. Father looked at us.

'What is it ?' He asked. My hands went to my stomach. Aaron placed a hand on mine.

'You're -' I nodded. He smiled broadly. 

'I'm gonna be a grandfather !' He yelled. We laughed. Everybody cheered.

'I love you Aph ,' Aaron said.

I smiled and kissed him.

*Months later*

I was in the throne room with Alina , my three day old daughter in my hands.

Aaron came in. Wearing his crown and his white suite.

We got married last month and now we are the King and Queen of Olympia. 

'Hi sweetheart ,' he said as he kissed me. 'Hi baby ,' he took Alina from my arms.

I watched him as he rocked her gently.  A smile formed on my lips.

'She's adorable ,' he said.

'She is your baby after all ,' I said. He smiled. 

'Our baby. Love ,' he said as he kissed me.
