"Well, that plan was a bust," Piper observed, as the weary friends trudged slowly back to camp, defeated.

"Who would've thought that Percy knew how to cover his tracks?" Hazel thought out loud.

"Percy would sometimes watch either hunting shows or CSI investigating shows," Annabeth informed, a small, wistful smile on her face. "Of course, that's only when he's really bored and there was nothing else on."

"He must've been bored a lot," Frank commented, shaking his head from the excess dirt he managed to get into his hair.

"I just don't understand how he managed to pull it off so fast," Annabeth continued.

No one had an answer for the daughter of Athena.

When they had walked to the cabins, they went their separate ways for the night, Jack having been called by the Guardians earlier on in the day.

Once Jason had closed his door, he leaned against it, unsure of what their next step was. They looked everywhere in Manhattan. There's no way that someone couldn't have seen Percy.

Jason's eyes fell to the map that was lying innocently on the table in the middle of the room, then slowly made his way towards it. He leaned on the furniture, his eyes studying the map but his mind wandering off.

He thought about Percy and how he failed to find him. Jason clenched his fists in anger and before he knew it, he had knocked his hand across the table, making everything scatter across the room.

He stormed over to his bed and flopped onto it, his face smashed against his pillow. He flipped over onto his back and stared up at the ceiling, just one thought running through his mind: Find Percy.

He brought his hands to his face and sighed into them, before turning over onto his side and falling asleep.

***********

Jason was standing in an open field. There were trees around him, but that wasn't the odd part.

The odd part was that he could see, out in the distance, a lone figure, walking around the field, not noticing the fact that they weren't alone.

Jason squinted to see the person's face, but they were too far away to get a good picture.

Jason looked down and cautiously moved one foot forward, expecting it not to work.

Well, it did.

He glanced back up at the figure in the distance and made his way toward them. But while he was walking, Jason couldn't help but feel this...uneasiness. Like something terrible was about to happen.

Once he got close enough to see the person's face, Jason was shocked beyond belief.

It was Percy.

"Percy!" Jason called out. But his friend didn't hear him.

Jason frowned and called out again, walking towards his cousin. Again, Percy didn't hear him.

Percy's back was facing him when Jason had reached him. He slowly reached out a hand and placed it carefully on Percy's shoulder, as though not to spook him.

"Percy?" Jason asked, concerned.

Percy turned around, and when he saw Jason, his face paled and his eyes were wide with fear which confused the son of Jupiter.

"Percy." Jason tried moving closer, but the son of Poseidon was already backing away.

"P-please don't," Percy stammered, holding up his hands.
