"Guys, I'm fine," Percy quietly said, as he picked at a thread on the blanket, his head bowed as if he were a child being scolded by his parents. In which, this case, is what exactly was going on.
He was sitting on the edge of his bed as Sam and Dean stood above him and were "talking in loud voices." At least, that's what Dean had said. Percy didn't know why the older hunter couldn't have said argument, but whatever. He didn't want to make the big brother even more frustrated with him.
That was what the two Winchesters were arguing about, in case you guys out there didn't know. It was mostly Sam telling Dean that Percy should not have gone with him and Dean coming back with how he should have known that something like that would've happened?
While the brothers were "talking loudly", Percy had zoned out-without meaning to, this time. Don't think that that was on purpose, for all you guys out there. You know who you are.
He didn't remember much of the drive back to the bunker, but he did remember the reptile ladies. They had cornered him against a tree after he had rushed out of Dean's car, which Percy felt bad about, but he didn't have time to think it over. He heard the growls then a blood-curdling scream making Percy stop in cold blood. The scream sounded eerily familiar and he almost stopped breathing when he clicked the pieces together.
Annabeth.
In his short, miserable life as a demigod, never once had Percy heard his girlfriend screech like that-not even when she saw a tiny spider in her cabin. It scared him more than Percy would like to admit.
He sprinted as fast as he could through the trees, where he found...
No one. Absolutely no one. Not even a hint of Annabeth.
Percy didn't understand. He could've sworn that he heard his Wise Girl. But she wasn't there with him. He was starting to feel like one of those kids in the horror movies as he was searching for Annabeth when he was ambushed from behind.
Thankfully, he already had Riptide out so by that time, he was swinging his sword and slashing at the monsters before him.
He had killed off about five of them when he was caught off guard when one of the scaly creeps told him that his coming back was part of their master's plans. Percy had scoffed at her and replied with a sarcastic, "Good luck."
But she kept saying that raising Pitch was the only beginning and that soon, Tartarus would rise. Percy was not anxious to meet him again. It brought back bad memories of when he and his girlfriend fell.
Even saying it in his head made Percy involuntarily shiver. That's when the reptile lady told him about Tartarus bringing him back from the dead.
Percy didn't believe her, but then he started thinking about how he was brought back and how Lucifer and Michael told him that he would be the cause of bringing Tartarus back into the mortal world. That's when it went downhill.
Percy vaguely remembered something scratching his back before he flung and hit a tree. And when he used his other power...
Percy took a shaky breath as he returned to the outside world, trying to calm his nerves. He felt like he was going crazy. I mean, hearing voices when there's no one else there? Seeing things that shouldn't be there? If that's not going crazy, then I don't know what is.
Percy's been hearing things a few days after he'd been healed. The first couple of days, it had been dreams that seemed to be reality until he started having them when he was awake sometimes. A few weeks after that, Percy had left, trying to figure out what the Hades was going on with him. Percy knew that he couldn't be around other people, mainly because they wouldn't understand. After all, his friends would try to talk to him saying that it'll be fine and that it's normal, but they don't understand.
