SOLARA'S POV

not even my mobile phone would work. now, it was about ten. i didn't want to disturb my neighbors so i resorted to my last option- going to a police station.

i sighed, taking a deep breath, gaining the courage to open the door. i moved the chair quietly, and unlocked it, walking outside.

i felt chills run up my spine, and i walked as quietly as possible.

i passed a stop sign, and a man who was smoking a cigarette noticed the tears on my face. "you okay? you need help with something?" i sighed in relief, "yeah, can you walk me to the..... wait." i paused. "i recognize your voice. you were behind me in the-" i stopped babbling and started running the opposite way. "mikey, fucking run!" a man hopped out of the car and they began chasing me, my heart was beating out of my chest, there was no way anyone could catch up to me that far away. but they did. i had no clue how, but suddenly someone was behind me clutching my arms together and the man with the cigarette walked in front of me.

"no ones gonna hurt you. but you can't be here. im sorry, solara." his lips were then against my neck, a piercing pain came through and made me scream.

then, i fell against somebody's chest, and i was out.

FRANKS POV

"frank, we need to just kill her." gerard told me. "no, im sick of killing innocent people." i argued, looking down at her. "we just did." he protested, "no, we fucking didn't. she wasn't innocent. she deserved to die. just go, okay? this girl is my responsibility, you won't have to hear a peep from her. she will not die."

gerard sighed and left the room. i grabbed the water from the fridge and set it next to the bed, leaving the room, eyeing her down one last time before exiting. it would be approximately ten minutes before she woke up, and she wouldn't want to see any of us first thing.

i passed gerard again, and stopped in my tracks. "you won't do anything to her?" i asked him, my back facing him. i heard him sigh. "no, frank. i won't. as long as she doesn't get away." he muttered.

i continued walking. i stopped at my bedroom door, we didn't need to sleep, but it was nice to have some privacy.

i sat on my bed and thought about our situation- nobody has ever seen us like that before, nobody human. did i do the right thing, keeping her alive? either way, it was too late.

my thoughts were interrupted when i heard a scream, making me rush down the hall and sigh as i looked at the door, thinking if i should open it or not.

i decided against it, but sat on the living room couch outside the door instead, so i could hear most of what she was doing.

having hearing fifty times more sensitive helped in situations like this.

SOLARA'S POV

i awoke in an unfamiliar room, not sure what was going on. i suddenly remembered everything from before, not sure if it was hours before, days before, weeks before, or even months. i did the first thing that came to mind, and screamed.

i breathed heavily as i realized i was in the same house as cannibalistic kidnappers.

oh, how fucking sweet. they left me a water bottle. my heroes.

i grabbed it and angrily took a sip, curling up into the sheets and crying.

i looked for a window, nothing.

anything but opening that door in front of the bed.

i suppose i could go out and try and knock them out, and use their phone to call the cops.

i huffed, wiping my tears and sitting up.

i walked to the door and sniffled, turning the knob. i opened the door to see the back of a head, the same head as the man who knocked me out. he turned around and sighed, obviously not sure what to say.

i felt a pain in my neck again, touching the wound and wincing. "sorry about that. less damage than hurting your brain, though." he finally spoke. "how could you...? what a-are you?" i asked.

"i really don't care if you believe me or not, but we're vampires. there's three others."

"why'd you do this to me?"

"you saw things you weren't supposed to see, gerard insisted on killing you. i fought until he agreed not to. you're kind of my responsibility now."

"i didn't mean to see it, i-"

"look, i know. these things happen. well, these kinds of things happen. this actually hasn't occurred before.."

i didn't have the strength to argue. "so i can't leave?"

"no. at least without supervision. but i promise i'll try and make it the furthest from a hellhole as possible."

i whined quietly. i felt dizzy, but contained myself.

"do you eat people..?" i asked.

"not innocent people. we try and focus on animals, but human blood is a lot more nutritious for us, unfortunately."

i didn't reply once again.

"im frank."

no reply.

"it's fine, i know who you are anyway."

i spoke up. "how?" he grinned. "you have your name on your phone, i saw it when i had to break it."

i felt more and more angry, but it was no use. nothing would change this.

after what i saw, it was hard not to believe him when he said they were vampires. but three others? here? fuck that.

"im tired." i said before exiting and going back to the room, which i assumed was now mine.
