The New Girl (An Aphmau Fanfiction)

Chapter 6

I pull into the driveway of the Ro'Meave house and get out of my car. I adjust my book bag that was on my shoulder so it doesn't fall onto the ground. I walk up to the door and knock waiting for a reply.

I stand there for a moment when a tall man with blond her answers the door. I assume it's Zane and Garroth's dad. "Hello, are you mister Ro'Meave?" I ask and the man smiles. "Yes I am, how can I help you young lady?" He asks and I look at my book bag for a moment then back at him. "Well I'm here to see your son Z-" I begin but he cuts me off giving me a small laugh.

"You must be here to see Garroth then." He says and I take a breath and am about to object when I hear Zane's voice. "Actually she came here to see me." He says standing in the doorway next to his father. "Zane, no offense but I don't think a woman that pretty would be over to see you." He says and Zane blushes a tiny bit but clears his throat to say something else but once again someone chimes in. This time it's Garroth.

"Allison? I'm surprised you're here to see me." He says giving me what I suppose was a charming smile. Zane begins to object again while Garroth's dad starts to talk and Garroth is trying to talk to me. "Dad she came over because I-" Once again Zane gets cut off and this bugs me because in my opinion he's a really sweet person he's just not good at being social.

"Baby brother I know you two talk sometimes but I don't think you could land a girl like her." He says looking at me with a smirk and I blush. Not from any romantic feeling but from pure embarrassment. I hate feeling like that, I can practically feel my blood boiling as I stand there but I try and keep a level head. "Zane just go up to your room, you're embarrassing this girl by trying to make it seem like she came to see you." Mister Ro'Meave says and that when I loose it.

I don't know why but I care about Zane and it felt like he was being picked on.
My werewolf sense kick in as I continue to hear them argue and the only thing I can think of to make them stop is yelling. So that's exactly what I do.

"EVERYONE SHUT UP!" I yell and within a second all three of them stop talking and look at me with surprised looks on their faces. "I came here to see Zane, he is not lying I said I would come over to help him study. Now if you'll excuse me we should get to that." I say grabbing an extremely confused and surprised Zane by the arm. I drag him into the house and up a set of stairs.

I stop when I realize that neither Garroth nor his father followed us. "Sorry about that, but I was getting sick of them picking on you." I say and I see a still startled Zane look away from me. "It happens all the time it's fine." She says and I shake my head. "No it's not, in my opinion you could get any girl you wanted. I think you're cool Zane." I says trying to be encouraging.

"I-I uh," he try's to say something but he cants seem to get anything out. Though his hair and mask cover most of his face I can see some blush on his fast so I decide to change the subject. "So I just realized I don't know where your room is so, we can't really have a study party if I can't find the party room." I says with a small laugh.

"Oh, it's this once here." He says opening a door a few feet away from us. I don't think I could mistake this room for anyone else's. The amount of black and dark grey is crazy. I didn't think one single person could own this much of one color but I turns out I was wrong. "It's very," I pause trying to think of something. "Black." I say deciding it's the best thing I can come up with.

He rolls his eyes and sits on his bed I sit next to him and open my bag. "You don't have to help me study honestly I'm not the kind of person you would enjoy hanging out with." He says and I shake my head sitting my books done between us. "No way, you're super fun and besides I think you're-" I begin to say but I'm cut off when I hear a loud knock at the door.

"Zane! We have a problem!" Garroth's muffled voice comes through the door. Zane lets out an annoyed sigh and I place a hand on his shoulder. "Be nice." I say not wanting anymore yelling and fighting. He just gives me a small nod and opens the door. "What is it Garroth?" He says annoyed and Garroth points to Zane's window. "Look outside." He says and Zane opens his curtains looking outside. "Oh no." He says quickly before pushing Garroth out of his room and closing the door.

"Quick, hide in the closet!" Zane says pushing me into the closet. "Zane what in the-" I begin but he closes the closet door and locks it. "Hey!" I yell hitting the door. "Just me quiet! Trust me." He says and I hear the front door downstairs open and close. I listen through the floor and hear a woman's voice.

"I'm home!" The woman yells and I listen as she calls for Zane and Garroth. I hear movement outside the closet door and then it's quiet. I sit on the closet floor in utter confusion at what is going on. A few minuets pass and I hear Zane's bedroom door open again. "Zu Zu, how is your homework going?" I hear the woman say who at this point I had focused out was Zane and Garroth's mom.

"Uh, fine mom." He says but I can hear the nervousness in his voice. I begin to pace around when I hit a floor board in the closet which lets out a loud creaking noise. "What was that?" Zane's mom asks and I hear the lock click and watch as Zane try's to stop his mom as she opens the closet door.

For a moment all three of us stand there frozen. Zane looks anxious, misses Ro'Meave looks shocked and I'm just utterly confused. Then, everything began to move very quickly. "Zu Zu! You have a girl over!" The lazy exclaims and I can see that Zane is not happy at all. The lady runs over and squeezes me tight.

"She's a werewolf! And she's so pretty." She says looking me up and down with a huge smile on her face. "Mom please-" Zane begins to say but is cut off my his mom letting out a loud giggle. "I'm just so happy my Zu Zu found a girlfriend, oh you two are so cute together." She says and Zane's eyes widen in embarrassment.

"She's not my, uh, girlfriend." He says and I watch the sadness in his mothers eyes, for some reason I get the craziest idea and I just go for it. "Well not yet." I chime in and Zane looks at me confused but his mothers light up. "I mean we've only been dating for a couple weeks but he's really sweet." I lie and she looks like she's about to faint, but so does Zane, but not out of joy.

"I'm so happy! Oh my names Zianna by the way!" She says excitedly shaking my hand. "Nice to meet you, I'm Allison." I say with a smile and she lets go of my hand. "So tell me, how did my little Zu Zu ask you out?" She says and I try to come up with something. "Well there was flowers and he was really sweet, he uh asked me out and uh," I try to think of more lies but can't.

"Flowers? That doesn't sound like my Zu Zu." She says and I begin to freak out when Garroth appears and chimes in. "That's because I planned it, I wanted to help my baby brother so I helped him plan everything. Zane looks at Garroth like he's crazy but Zianna seems to believe it. "Oh this is just the best." She says with a huge smiles and suddenly she gasps and I can see the fear in Zane's eyes.

"We should all go and hang tomorrow afternoon! I'll go start making plans!" She says excitedly and before anyone can object she says she's going to go make reservations and runs off. "Okay, in pretty sure I was just ganged up on." Zane says sounding slightly annoyed. "Well, she just looked so sad, I'm sorry." I says looking the floor but out of the corner I see Zane give me this sad look as f he regretted something.

"I, uh, it's fine but you didn't have to do that." He says and I smile. "Well it's not to bad, though I guess we have to pretend we're dating now." I say with a small laugh and Garroth laughs as well. "Good luck with that you two." He says and I smile. "Thanks Garroth, we're gonna need it."
