There was a soft knock at the door. A few second later I heard my mum's voice from upstairs, "Blaise could you please get that?"

"Sure mom." I replied getting off the couch, I'd been there all morning just watching cartoons. I took a chair to look through the peephole at the door and saw a girl with a mess of green hair standing on our front porch. She looked like she was about my age.

I jumped off the chair, pushed it into the hall of the house and opened the door. She had a shy aura around her. "Umm... hi," she squeaked out, "I'm Azure, Azure Blumes."

"Azure Blumes? Azure blooms where?" I asked, tilting my head a bit.

She giggled and replied, "No dummy my name is Azure Blumes. B-L-U-M-E-S. My family just moved into the house next door and my mum told me to go out and make new friends. Umm what's your name?"

"Oh I'm Blaise, Blaise Reaves."

She pouted and seemed to be lost in thought for a while, exasperated she pouted saying, "I can't come up with a pun for your name."

I laughed a little and heard my mum's voice calling me, "Blaise, Blaise, Bla-aaaa-ise, Bla-aaa-ise."

It got louder and louder till I felt something small bounce off the back of my head. My drooping head shot up and I felt my legs hit the bottom of my desk. I heard a snicker from behind me.

Sighing I rocked back on my chair and whispered, "I can feel you smirking Az."

Out of the corner of my eyes I could see her lying on her desk, she looked happy with herself as she grinned.

"Hey if you start sleeping in class who's going to hide me when I'm sleeping? She can't see me since I sit behind you, you're the perfect wall. Also I need you to stay awake because you're going to teach me all of the things she says after class. You know Miss Velma's lessons are the worst." She replied.

"How are you at the top of the class if you're always sleeping through class?" I asked.

"Because my brain needs its beauty sleep. Duh."

"Uh I think that's a completely different conce-"

"Master Reaves and Miss Blumes, it would do you well to flirt outside my classroom." Miss Velma's voice cut into our conversation. I turned my eyes to her as she spoke to us. "Please remember you are in class next time." A snicker was heard from somewhere in the classroom. A small "ooooooohh" went around class.

"But ma'am-" Azure begun to echo, her voice high. Unbelievable, I could even hear her blushing just from her voice.

"Sorry about that Miss Velma." I said in the calmest tone I could muster.

"Now where was I...?" Miss Velma asked, turning back to her text book.

Having said that she picked off from where she'd left droned on with her lesson. Looking around most of the class was asleep, people took History classes just to sleep in class it seemed. To make it worse Miss Velma just read all her notes from the text book. She looked like she was in her mid-thirties and she was always dressed in the colour of her mood, grey. Even her glasses were grey. Today she'd worn a grey woollen sweater coupled together with a long grey skirt, complimented by grey socks and shoes. The only thing that wasn't grey was her blonde hair.

As if reading my mind, I heard from behind, "Man she needs a wardrobe change, or a man in her life."

"Or both." I agreed.
