"You hide behind that Veil of Light of yours, how much longer do you wish to remain a coward dear brother?"

The sound of the alarm beeping woke me up. Rays of sunlight were peeking through the openings of my curtains lighting my bedroom up ever so slightly. It looked like a peaceful morning for once and my room looked really nice in this lighting, well at least the cleaner parts of my room. I looked around the mess I called my room, my desk cluttered with action figures of different characters from comic books to games, gun models racked on wall mounts and posters on my walls of my favourite games and characters I liked amongst other various things I liked to collect, the drawer was still left open from last night and the chair in the corner of my room with a pile of still wearable clothes.
"I should really clean my room sometime." I said out loud, closing my drawer.
Whiskers, our cat, was curled up at the foot of my bed still catching Z's. As I got off my bed he meowed loudly, yawned and then stretched. I scratched his neck as I passed my bed, picked up the towel I'd left hanging on my chair and left my room to go to the bathroom across the hall. Downstairs I could hear my mum humming as she made breakfast and the smell of fruits wafted through the air. Knocking on the door as I passed my sister's room I heard a muffled "Mphm, I'm up I'm up." from her room as I entered the bathroom.
We live in a house of light sleepers, anything wakes us up. That's both a good and a bad thing. Cause everything wakes us up. I'm pretty sure when Whiskers meows someone's sure to wake up.
I got into the bathroom and turned the shower on, letting the water run over me. My thoughts wandered in the shower. As if something was lingering in the back of my mind.
Coward...
All that I could remember from my dream last night. Weird. A sudden series of banging at the door snapped my mind back to the present and I could hear my small sister yelling, "C'mon hurry up Blaise, you're taking too long."
I turned the shower knob, grabbed the towel hung nearby, covered myself and walked out into the hall.
Lynn, my annoying small sister, was leaning on the wall in her pyjamas, towel over the shoulder looking bored.
"What took so long, your hair?"
"Says the girl who got 3 combs stuck in her hair twice."
"Hey that was a really bad hair day for me." she said, her cheeks puffing up as she looked.
You kinda set yourself up for that one.
"It happened twice."
"Shouldn't you be gone now? A lady needs her bathroom privacy."
"I'm not even near the door."
"Good," she said, "Keep it like that." She stuck out her tongue as she entered the bathroom.
"Weirdo." I muttered walking off.
"Wonder who calls you that a lot."
"Shut it brain." I said smacking my forehead.
I got into my room and changed into my school tracksuit. Given the day was Friday, we had P.E. as our last lesson of the day before we left for home. Thankfully, we could wear tracksuits to school, which was definitely more comfy than the school uniform we wore on all other school days. Leaving my room I walked past Lynn, who was walking out of the bathroom, fully prepared for her school day.
