Two beings were talking to each other, one dark the other bright. A third being, blue in colour stood close to them watching on.

"How dare you call me a coward, you know not the struggles I bear carrying all this light. I am a beacon to the people." said the brighter of the two.

"Stop shining that damned lamp in my face you coward! You know not the demons I face as you shield yourself and shy away from protecting the people. Can't you help and make my job even slightly easier and cull them down as the caravans continue?"

"I grow tired of this nonsense!"

"As do I brother."

They drew their weapons.

"Stop it both of you!" the blue figure screamed out at them. "Can't you stop fighting for once? We need to be searching for her. Mother will not be pleased if she awoke to this."

I felt a flick on my forehead. "Blaise, get your heads out of the cloud." Az's voice came from in front of me. Looking up I saw Az seated across me looking at me, her eyes questioning me. Her necklace gleamed in this light. "You've been thinking a lot today, what's up?" she asked. I looked at Trip who was quietly eating his food on his side of the table.

"You've been out of it a while Blaze." he said, swallowing his food.

"Don't call me that." I shuddered, remembering my old online name.

If I remember well I first met Trip online. It kinda surprises me that we actually met and became best friends. His mom visited us a few times with him and said she'd consider moving into the neighbourhood, she called it "homey" here.

He chuckled and asked, "So what's got your mind on hold for so long?"

My eyes wandered down to the spoon on my plate.

Is it really worth bothering them with?

Another flick landed on my forehead harder than the one before. This time it was Trip. "Speak." he said, his eyes closed, one arm on his cheek. "No keeping quiet on small things remember?" he said, opening one eye.

"First ouch," I said rubbing my forehead, "You used too much force. Second, I don't really know if it's something worth bothering over. It was just a weird dream."

"But Blaise," Az piped in, "you don't usually have dreams when you fall asleep. You always tell me you have dark nights."

"Dark nights? Sounds like a movie." Trip butted in.

"It just means I have dreamless nights." I answered.

"Why don't you just call it that?"

"Been calling it that since forever, it'd feel wrong to change right now. Besides it's the same as me asking you why you wear that worn out arm band all the time."

Rapping her spoon across our hands, "You're going off track guys." Az said. "Did you tell Lynn about it? What did you dream of?" she asked looking at me.

"Well in the morning I couldn't really remember much of the dream," I said scratching my head, "so I couldn't really tell her about it. I still don't know why I should tell her, honestly speaking. It wouldn't change my situation."

"She likes that kinda stuff," Trip said, "and who knows, it might help to tell her."

I looked at both of them and shook my head. It puzzled me how telling her would help my situation. But I won't question it further. It won't help to linger on that.
