The blue being, standing in between the light and darkness, had her arms stretched out separating them.
"You two are brothers! Enough of this! I can't handle seeing anyone getting hurt." She shouted, slumping to the floor as she began to sob. "Enough." she said in between sobs.
The darkness looked down at her. Looking back up at the light hesitantly, he sheathed his weapon.
"I will not fight you brother. For the sake of our sister. Insult me as you wish, I will not fight you." Going down on one knee, he checked on the blue figure. The sobs racking her body decreased as he rubbed her back. The light looked down at the figures of his brother and sister and scoffed.
"Weaklings like you two should have never gotten abilities. It pains me to see such pathetic figures from the both of you." he said walking away.
The darkness clenched his fist and bit down on his tongue. He felt his sister's hand squeeze his shoulder. "He knows not of the demons you face, leave him. If he wishes not to see it, don't force it upon him." her voice softly cracked, tears streaming down her face. "The fault is not his but circumstances, were he in your shoes, were he getting those wounds, he would understand."
Raising his head to the sky, the darkness took a deep sigh and paused. "You're right sister. He knows nothing."

I felt aware. Nauseous but aware. Not just of how close Trip's arse was to my head but also of my surroundings. They stood in a defensive circle around me, me being the only one on the ground, each one of them peering into the mist as it swirled around us slowly closing in with each passing moment. The tension in the air was thick, everyone was ready to move, well everyone except for me. I was ready to hurl. Putting my hand on my stomach, I heard Az's voice from my left.
"We need to protect them."
"We need to protect ourselves Az. If one of us is taken out there's no guarantee anyone of us will make it out alive from this situation." Trip's voice from behind me.
Silence.
"Stay alert Az. Focus."
"I can't focus with you breathing down my neck Trip."
"Sorry."
More silence.
I heard a slithering noise from behind me, followed by a loud thud and a shout. Instantly my mind screamed, "TRIP!" but as I turned and almost face planted into his arse, screaming inside, I heard Emma's scream out Jake's name. As I turned to her direction I saw Jake being dragged into the mist screaming, his arms flailing. Emma was ready to run in but Trip was faster.
"Az protect them!" his voice echoed as he disappeared into the mist.
Az cursed under her breath. "This is why I chose the sword and shield." She said, taking a defensive stance. From the mist behind me, I heard hissing and the sounds of metal clanging. It went on for a while then a sudden loud thud was heard and a body flew out of the mist and landed, skidded and stopped at our feet. It was Trip. Rolling back onto his feet he looked back into the mist, his eyes wide.
"Az... it's ....." he cursed. "I don't know what it is. It looks like a freaking snake woman in that mist. She has Jake." His breathing was heavy. On further inspection he had claw marks streaking across the chest piece of his armour. No blood... but he seemed drained. "I can't use my abilities for some reason. It's like they're not working on her."
