A/N: I wrote this book a while back and yikes, I am 100% embarrassed and still cringe at this whenever I look back on it. There will definitely be mistakes throughout the book and if you can't handle it, I don't suggest you read this :) but If for any reason you'd still like to, then go right ahead! I hope you enjoy despite my mistakes.

My alarm went off at 7 am.

It was Thursday. A day before we had that class camping trip. I haven't even started packing yet.

I got up from bed and the air felt warm.

A good day. I hope.

I decided to wear my grey sweatshirt, black combat boots and black leggings. I put my hair into a cute & messy bun. Just comfortable for today.

I decided to skip breakfast cause I wanted to get to school early because I wanted to throw In some reading time in the library before class started.

I kissed my mom on the cheek, grabbed my throw on shoulder bag and left, "have a good day sweetie" she said.

I hope.

The air was warm and moist. Just like I thought,

By the time I got to school no one was there yet. It was 7:30, school didn't start till 9. I walked passed the gym seeing some guys practice football. Oh yes, the most popular guys in the school.

They were passing footballs back-and-forth. One specifically caught my eye.. Hayes Grier.

Captain of the football team.

He was wearing a plain white short sleeve T-shirt and red shorts.

That shaggy dark brown hair and blue green eyes made my heart melt.

He saw me,

I waved at him,

He gave me a small smile.

We were in the same English language arts class. Our whole class was going on a camping trip for 4 days for some writing project, our teacher said being outdoors would give us all a good-poetry- feel to our writing.

I agreed with him actually,

The library was quiet. No one else was there except for me and the librarian. It was nice, peaceful.

I guess I sorta passed out. By the time I woke up, the halls were pretty crowded, I woke up to the sound of my phone go off with a text:

"Girl, we need to talk. Meet me by the gym I GOT NEWS ABOUT HAYES" my close friend Anna. She knew how I felt about Hayes, and Anna was the type of girl to make my feeling and dreams come true. I loved how she cared. But I didn't quite think there was hope. He was the football captain, and I was a girl who read books and wrote all day along. It couldn't happen.

I got up from my chair and left the library, I went over to the gym door and saw that the guys were still practicing. I saw Anna on the bleachers. She waved for me to go sit next to her.

I passed the guys and Hayes without making a fool of myself & sat

next to her.

"So what's this all about?" I asked, putting my bag on the floor.

"Hayes! I overheard him talking to the guys and he said he thought you were really cute" she whispered to me.

"really?" I felt a smile appear but I tried to keep my cheeks from turning red.

"Yeah! Girl! I swear, I even have a video of it" like I said, she was the girl to make it all happen and uncover the truth

"That's alright," I said laughing.

"Suit yourself" Anna said.

The school bell went off, I was so focused on what Anna said that I didn't notice that hayes's practice was already over and they were in the change room.

"I better get to English class"

I said to Anna.

"Okay, I better get to science"

We both took our bags and were walking out the door.

I was thinking about the whole Hayes situation when I felt something hit me. I ran into something..or someone actually.

Hayes.

I accidentally dropped my bag on the floor, spilling my notebook and my books.

I watched my stuff hit the floor as my eyes met Hayes. He was as shocked as I was, he was now wearing a blue tank top revealing his muscles. I REPEAT. MUSCLES. Along with black jeans and black vans. But his deep eyes grabbed my attention.

"I'm so sorry!" I said.

"No, no, it was my fault. I wasn't looking where I was going"

Hayes and I went on the ground to pick up my stuff that had fallen.

"We'll see you later man, seems like you got you're eye on something else" his teammates said. A few hollered as they left the gym.

Hayes now looked embarrassed.

"sorry about them, they get a little.."

"I understand" I said cutting him off, not looking at him. It was hard trying not to. But I managed.

I was just about done grabbing all my stuff from the ground when Hayes picked up my notebook and handed it to me.. Slowly though. He stared at me as he handed me my notebook.

"Thanks" I said. Smiling.

We both got up from the ground and just stood there looking at each other.

"Althea right?" Hayes asked.

HE KNEW MY NAME

"Yup," I said trying to let out a cute laugh.

I probably LOOKED LIKE AN IDIOT

"I'm sorry again, I was just talking to the guys and I wasn't looking where I was going. It was almost as if my mind was--"

"Somewhere else? Yeah. I get it" I said cutting him off. Staring deep into his eyes now.

"You're headed to English right?"

"Yeah,"

"Well maybe I could walk with you?.." He said, running his hands through his brown shaggy hair.

HE WAS TOO CUTE

"I'd like that" I said smiling.

"After you" he said, smiling and gesturing towards the gym doors.

"why thank you" I said.

And we both walked to English class together. I stood beside him so close, that I could smell his axe cologne. But by the way he was smiling and talking to me, it was almost as if he liked it.

I KNOW I DID
