Chapter 43

Hayes's POV:

I didn't understand what was wrong,
I had a girlfriend, shouldn't Nash and cam be happy for me? And even my best friend Althea? I don't know about chandler though. We never really got along, we were friends but were great friends.

Haley and I cuddled on the porch chairs by the fire. The ones Nash, cam, Althea and chandler were sitting in before.

I stared blankly into the fire, I thought about my best friend.. Althea. She didn't seem quite okay tonight. She seems unsteady,

"Babe..?" Haley said, as she came closer to my face,

"Yeah?" I said back,

"Are you okay?" She asked, her blonde hair fell perfectly to the side as her eyes shined in the moonlight. She was beautiful..

She was mine.

"Yeah.. I'm just, I don't know. I just don't feel right" I said, I lied.

I knew I was okay, I just cared about my best friend.

"Maybe this will fix it" she said as she smirked and leaned over to me and kissed me. I liked her kisses, they were soft and gentle.

I wrapped my arms around her waist,

"I love you Haley" I said,

She hesitated,

"I love you hayes.." She said quietly.

Why would she hesitate?

Althea's POV:

The rest of the night was fun,
I hung out with chandler, cam and Nash. When it was midnight my mom said that we should get home,

"I'll see you next time cam" I said giving him a hug, "alright kiddo" he said.
I smiled,

Next, I hugged Nash. "Bye cam, I'll probably seen you soon" I laughed, "alright Thea bear" Nash said,

Some nicknames Nash gave though,
I laughed once again.

And then I hugged chandler, I held onto him close, his grip was tight, but the hug felt nice. "I'll see you at school I said" smiling at him. He smiled back,

My mom and I went to the car and drove home.

Some time throughout the drive my mom put one hand on my shoulder, I looked away from the window and at her,

"Are you okay?" She asked, she had a serious look on her face

"Of course mom, I'm fine, why would I not be okay?" I asked,

"Because of Hayes" she said in a straight loud tone.

I looked at her. "I'm fine, were still best friends" I managed to give her a smile,

There, maybe she'll believe me.

Because I'm just the 'Best friend'
