We had to stay in a dorm. There were three other girls in the dorm: Harriet, Luna and Selena. Selena and Luna were twins and could both shapeshift into snow foxes. Anya wasn't in our dorm.
I loved being a shapeshifter. I could run even faster than an Olympic runner and not get tired at all. When I was younger, I could run but I'd get tired halfway through. I used to hate running.
After our first lesson, which was English, it was break so we chatted and had snacks. Then it was a Shapeshifting control lesson. Everyone could control their shapeshifting by the end of the class.
"Are normal people scared of shapeshifters?" I asked Anya at lunch.
"Obviously. The werewolf is actually a shapeshifter. Well, half. Some people are half shapeshifter and can only shapeshift as a human version of the animal."
"Cool. Can shapeshifters have normal parents?"
"No. It's not possible at all. The shapeshifter gene runs in the family and is passed on from parent to child."
The bell rang and we went to our last lesson: Maths. Demi and Anya were on my table. Our teacher, Mrs Robinson, made Maths fun by shapeshifting into a tiger.
