Chapter One: Winter

*Winter's POV*

"Winter Davies, you are needed in the office." said the tannoy.

"Great," I said, with tons of sarcasm.

"What is it this time?"

I stood up with my bag and whispered to my best friend (and cousin) - Demi Harper, the most popular girl in school - "Got to go. I'm needed elsewhere."

"OK. See you in a bit." she said, writing down something on a square piece of paper. She handed it to me.
I read it.

"Please don't get expelled. Demi."

"I got expelled five times at my last school. For fighting."

"You're such a badass." said Demi.

"See you later." I said, exiting the room.

"Bye, Winter!" said Demi.

I sighed as I fiddled with my fake nails.

"Winter Davies, you are now expelled." said Mrs Heather.

"For what?" I said.

"Fighting. I saw. Last week you fought Lucy Jones. That behaviour is unacceptable." said Mrs Heather.

"I only fought once. You're overreacting."

I was expelled. I couldn't believe it. At least I couldn't get detentions any more. Demi fights all the time but she doesn't get caught.

"I'm expelled, Demi." I said.

"No. Way. I can't see you all day." she said.

"That's so bad! I was expelled for fighting. Once." I said.

I told my mom. She wasn't angry at me. She was angry at school.

"It's Lucy's own fault. She accused you of stealing her phone." she said. I love my mom. She was always on my side. Always.  She's the best mum in the world.

I hate my school. But Mom's homeschooling me. I texted Demi during lunch (I came home just before lunch started).

Me: "Hi, Demi!"

Demi: "Hey....I'm expelled.."

Me: "What?"

Demi: "I fought and I got expelled."

My mom and Demi's mom are sisters and they live together. So Demi and I will be homeschooled together!

Me: "We're going to be homeschooled!"

Demi: "Cool! I got to go. Mom wants me to go to town. Chat later."

Me: "Chat later."

Demi: Definitely!!!!! :) :) :)

I turned my phone off and laid in bed. Demi and I were expelled. I couldn't believe it!
