Cooper isn't happy, that much is evident as he heads this way. "And I did!" I groan.

"I brought her." Blake steps forward.

Cooper's angry eyes glare into my brothers. "Why?!"

"Because of Bryce! No one was home, what if he came to the house? He could hurt her." Blake says.

"That's overreacting just a bit I think." I scoff.

"Can you shut up?!" Blake argues.

"Hey!" Cooper grabs my brother's shirt. "Don't fucking talk to her like that."

"She's my sister." Blake removes his friend's hand, eyes narrowing.

"Exactly and now you've put her in harms way."

"What? How." Blake's laugh is empty as he looks between Cooper and I.

"She's sick, Blake! She's been out all day and now she's out here in the damn cold because of your stupid ass-"

"Boys! I need you back on the field." Coach yells. The team has all moved on to lunges.

"One second coach." Cooper says and as if he's given up, the coach throws his hands up and turns back around to the field.

"Kyla. . .I didn't know." Blake shakes his head.

"Because you don't listen." Cooper scoffs. Walking towards me, he rests his hands on my knees and looks me in my eyes. "Are you feeling okay? Do you need anything?"

"I'm just cold." I shiver.

"Let me get you a jacket. I've got one in my locker."

I nod and watch him as he jogs back towards the locker room, exiting with his football hoodie moments later. The number 1 is printed in bold letters on the back. "Here." He hands it to me.

"Thank you." I take it gratefully, throwing it over my torso and letting it wrap me in a comfortable warmth.

"Okay," with his hands braced against the cold metal bleachers, he leans forward until we're nose and nose. "I'm gonna be right out here on the field. If you need anything just yell."

"Okay." I draw my bottom lip between my teeth and Cooper's eyes watch the movement. He smiles, leaning closer until his lips graze mine for a delicate kiss and he pulls away.

"Stop macking on your girlfriend and get over here Rhodes!" Says coach and with a grin, Cooper departs.

It takes precisely an hour until I just can't bare it anymore, I have to shut my eyes. Even though the view of Cooper is well over delightful, my body begs for some shut eye. Rolling on my side, I lean back against the cold metal. Using the hood of Cooper's jacket as a pillow, I wrap my arms around myself.

For some time I simply stare up at the colors beginning to wash over the canvas of the sky, stars begin to appear and the atmosphere is growing colder. Before I freeze myself to death, my eyes shut and I'm overcome with sleep.

I'm surprised I stay asleep so long especially on a cold metal bench but when I wake up, it's to my body being lifted and a pool of warmth wrapping around me. I snuggle closer to the body and revel in the comfort.

"I'll take her home." Cooper says from above.

"Again, I'm sorry. I didn't know she was sick." Blake apologizes.

"It's fine, dude." Cooper sighs and it's silent once more. "I know you're awake." He chuckles.

Opening my eyes one at a time, I smile. "I'm mad at you by the way."
