♡An hour or two later and Riley's lack of clothes has been resolved. She now wears a sleek and formal dress for the fancy day out that her date has planned. Supposedly he's from a different school and the two met when she was out getting a cup of coffee yesterday afternoon.
Sweat dribbles down my forehead as I now put away the rest of her clothes into her drawers and her room is spotless.
"Should I avoid spaghetti?" Riley asks Cooper, she's dead set on getting advice from the last person anyone should ask advice from. I tried to tell her but she denied and is now taking everything Cooper says literally.
"Depends, how scary do you look while eating spaghetti?" Cooper sucks breath in a sharp breath.
I scoff, throwing a pillow his way, "Cooper."
Riley's anxious expression fades and she's letting out a nervous chuckle
"I'm kidding, don't eat spaghetti." Cooper crosses his arms over his chest. "Eat juicy. Fat. ribs." He hums.
"You're no help." Riley pouts. Clearing her throat, she walks in front of her full length mirror and shrugs.
"Does this look good?" She asks, looking between Cooper and I."Is this a trick question?" He asks.
"No you stupid whore." Riley scoffs.
Leaning closer to the now tense Cooper, I whisper. "Just tell her she looks beautiful."
"If it was you in that dress then sure but-" he says and with no time to get into details I step closer to my friend and say. "You look beautiful.""Yup." Cooper answers shortly.
"Good, thank you guys so much." Riley pulls Cooper and I into her arms for a brief hug then let's go just as Cooper's phone buzzes in his pocket.
Looking down at the screen, Cooper curses. "Shit I gotta get to football practice."
"What? Now?" I pout.
With a frown, he pulls me into his arms and wraps himself around me tightly. "Yes, now. Coach is expecting me."
"Okay." I sigh, ready to unfold myself from Cooper's arms but he pulls me back in and peppers kisses all over my face. "Agh! Cooper, stop!" I giggle.
"Yes. Please stop." Riley scoffs from afar. Eventually Cooper does cease his attack and I already miss his lips. "You go home and curl up in bed okay?" With one last kiss on my lips, he turns away and stares Riley down. "You keep my girl safe. Make sure she gets home and stays there."
"I'm on it. You can go now." Riley waves him off, swiping mascara over her lashes. I sit on the edge of her bed watching Cooper go, with a faint smile he's disappearing out of the bedroom and I'm falling back on Riley's comforter. "So how does it feel to be officially boo'd up?" My friend smiles at me from her vanity and I smile.
"Extraordinary."
"You know," Riley sighs. Turning around she is staring at me with a grave and somber expression. "You could have told me about what happened with Bryce on Friday."
Hastily I sit upright. "H-how'd you find out about that?" I gulp.
"How did I find out?" Riley points to her cellphone on the nightstand. "It's all over that school gossip page on Twitter. Everyone knows about it, Kyla."
Unlocking Riley's phone I scroll through the page that has now become the breeding ground for thirsty gossip. It was created by some anonymous student at our school who takes only the most interesting rumors that someone gives them and they post them for the world to see.
So imagine my disdain when I see:
"I heard from someone that this Friday Bryce forced himself on Kyla Daniels. What a sicko."
