It was the day after you had read To Kill A Mocking Bird to Loki when you found yourself thinking about something that had drawn your attention.

"Hey Loki," you ask, readjusting your wings. They had fallen asleep from being folded for too long, "Did I ever apologize?"

"What for (Y/N)?" He asks as confusion clouds his eyes and his head barely cocks to one side.

"For cutting you up when we first met. I know I wasn't sorry about it when I first did it, but I can't lie and say I'm not now." You answer softly, afraid that you would strike something within him and make him hate you again, "It just that you've kinda become a friend to me over the past couple days and I was thinking about how I cut you, and I was feeling bad about it, so I would like to formerly apologize for hurting you the day we met."

Loki was surprised by your apology and your kind words to say the least. He stared, wide eyed, in surprise for a minute before answering you.
"It's okay (Y/N). You were doing your job and you hated me at the time. I can't say they didn't hurt, they burned like Hel, but I won't hold it against you."

"Thanks Loki, that's very kind of you." You answer with a big, toothy smile that Loki has grown rather fond of.

"In case I don't get the chance any time after this, I'd like to let you know that I'm sorry for what I did to New York," Now this caught your attention. Your eyes were trained on Loki's shape as he began to slowly pace, "In the time I've spent with you, I've realized my wrongdoings. And much faster than I would have expected at that. When I came here, to Midgard, I thought all mortals were crude and dull creatures that had no life or purpose other than to be ruled, but now I can see that some have something in them, like a spark, that makes them different from any others. You aren't all the same, lifeless creatures I first thought you were. Not copy and paste as you would say, each one is different to the other and it's rather interesting. I'd like to thank you for opening my eyes to this. Now, I don't love all you mortals, like my 'brother'," He added air quotes, "but I think I can deal with a few of you." He finished, looking straight at you, with your mouth fallen open and your eyes wider than the sun.

"Loki," you began timidly after quickly closing your mouth, "Do you know how amazing this is!" You shouted at nearly the top of your lungs.
"I would totally give you a hug if I could! This is great!" You said excitedly.

"I guess it is, given that I don't apologize that often." Loki says, unable to understand why you're so excited about a simple apology. Instead, he thought about what hugging you would be like.

You got up and flapped your feathery wings happily, accidentally knocking down a spare office chair and a cup of pens. There was just so much happy and excited energy to resist.

"Oops." You say as you fold your wings back up behind you and set the chair right, along with the cup and pens.

Loki laughed a little when you knocked the chair and pens down. He still didn't know what had you so happy, but he didn't really care. The sight of you happily messing up with your beautiful wings was too amusing and, quite frankly, adorable to him.
"Having a bit of trouble there?" Loki asked amusedly.

"Just a bit." You return just as amused, trying to get a pen to let go of one of your feathers, "This pen is going to drive me insane! I can feel it pinching my feather and it's infuriating!" You almost growl, fighting with the thing to unclip it from the sensitive feather.

Once you got your feather free of the horrendous adversary; the pen, you sat back down with one wing on your lap and the other folded between you and the chairs back. You were sitting on the side of your legs with them pulled up into the chair, your arm resting on the armrest, so this was really the only option you had.

"You have feeling in your wings?" Loki asked, completely forgetting about a question he wanted to ask you, he had thought of earlier.

"Of course silly, I have feeling in every single feather. They're extremely sensitive so the pen actually did hurt a bit, but it wasn't anything bad. Just a little sting." You answer.

"How strong are they?"

"Well, they are just like the wings of a falcon, so it's given that they're going to be pretty strong. I don't actually know their limit. I've never tested them, but I know that they're more than strong enough to carry two of me, so I'd say they are pretty darn strong." You reply proudly.

Loki seemed to think of something before asking you another question. He seemed ever fascinated by your wings, and honestly, you didn't mind. You liked answering his questions and he was interested. It was a win-win.

"What happened to the tips? I mentioned them before, I'm sorry about that by the way, the color does suit you quite well, its just that they don't seem natural." Loki questioned.

"I thank you for the apology, but that my friend, is a story for another day." You say rather dolefully.

"Hard to talk about?" Loki pushed.

"Yeah." You answered almost mournfully.

"Alright then, if I may, what had you so excited when I apologized earlier?" Loki dared to ask, almost afraid of your answer.

You mood immediately changed as you remembered his apology. Your saddened state was washed away by a bright smile and an excited glint in your eyes.

"I was happy because your apology means that you've changed! You realize what you did was wrong and you feel bad for it! That means you're one step closer to getting out!" You say happily, all the while a joyous smile painted into your face.

"You really think that they will let me out of here one day, don't you? Your hope is baffling." Loki countered.

"Well, that's kind of something I'm known for. I think, with enough time and persuasion, it could happen." You remarked, the belief evident in your voice.

Loki sighed, not wanting to start any sort of argument, no matter how cute it made you look. He didn't have that kind of energy right now.

"Lady (Y/N), it's your break. I suggest you get some rest, it has been a long day." Thor said as he walked into the room.

"Alright Thor. Thanks! Ill see you in an hour." You say as you get up and head to the door, but not after lightly stretching your wings.

"See you later Lady (Y/N)!" Thor called.

"Bye (Y/N)!" Loki called right as you stepped out.

You quickly turned around after stepping out and stuck your head back into the room.

"Bye Loki!" You called back.

When the door closed you headed for the kitchen to get something to eat before heading to your room for your break.
