WAIT IS IT THAT GIRL FROM EARLIER.

my eyes went wide, how didn't I know that she was a transfer student i thought. out of embarrassment I covered my face; hoping that she didn't notice me.

i wasn't paying attention to what was happening, but I guess my teacher told her how I was the only who had a empty seat for her to sit in beside me.

she walked happily over to me, not even noticing that I looked like a dying whale.

"hello." chaeyoung said as she finally made it to the back. "hi" i whispered. i was facing forward so chaeyoung could only see half of my face.

she shrugged and looked forward too.

i was doing victory dances in my head.

for the rest of the class chaeyoung stood quiet, i silently thanked her for that. i was never good at talking to people.

"okay, you guys can go! but make sure to study" Ms. Nam yelled out to
the class. everyone was rushing towards the exit; expect for chaeyoung and I.

"you know," chaeyoung started. "you shouldn't be so quiet" she said in a voice barely above a whisper. "huh" I said in shock. no one has really ever acknowledged my quietness.

"o..oh I'm sorry.." i forced the words out of my mouth. "do-don't be sorry I just w-wanted you to be comfortable with me" chaeyoung said as she played with her fingers.

"Oh."

"im not a bad person; i promise" chaeyoung said as her eyes begged mines to look at her.

"yeah I—" i started but was cut off by Ms. Nam.

"girls, you should go you're missing your lunch! get to know each other there" she said looking up from her papers.

"Sorry Ms. Nam" we both sang out.

"no need to be sorry" she said with a smile.

chaeyoung smiled back. i looked at her, what a beautiful smile I thought.

as we were about to exit the classroom Ms. Nam called out, "and girls, have fun" she said with a wink.

chaeyoung giggled, which made me start to giggle too.

Her laugh is almost as contagious as her smile.
