CHAPTER 14

I close my eyes shaking my head, a tear rolls down my face

This is the end.

*WHAM*

- 

“Is she okay?.”

“Call the Ambulance someone.’

“Do you think she’s dead.”

 

I head faint whispers around me, I can't see anything, I can't move, I can't breathe properly…im struugling to survive 

I make my best effort to open my eyes, it's so blurry, i can't focus my eyes; I cant see anything but faint outlines of people running away.

Am I still alive?

*BOOM* *SMASH*

I feel glass shatter on top of me, I need to move.

I slowly roll over on my stomach coughing; i reach my arm out looking ahead of me. I faintly see another car screeching towards me, someone quickly grabs my waist and jerks me up from the concrete path and swings me to the other side. I black out.

-IN THE HOSPITAL-

I wake up gradually to bright lights shining down into my eyes

I must be dead

I force my head to the side, I see Chloe and Natalie

Okay, I’m alive

The doctors come in, Chloe and Natalie shoots up from their seat

“Dr Kenneth! IS Gwen going to be okay? Is she going to make it?” I hear Natalie ask

“She’s going to have to say at the hospital for around ten days.” The Doctor says

Dr Kenneth walks over to the side of the bed

“You're awake!” he says

I nod

“Let me explain to you what damages you have on your body.” He says in a soft voice

Dr Kenneth flips through the pages on his clipboard; he opens his eyes and sighs. Chloe and Natalie looks at me and starts tearing up. They both leave the room; I guess they don’t want me to see them burst into tears.

“Lets start with...3 broken ribs, a fractured wrist on your left arm, dislocated right knee, broken left collarbone and cuts and scratches along your back, legs, arms and a few on your face.” He says slowly

I close my eyes and take a deep breath

“It's bad but you didn’t lose your life like some others...” He says

Dr Kenneth walks out of the room, Chloe and Natalie walk back in with red and glossy eyes

“Glad you alive Gwen.” Says Chloe in a soft and shaky voice

I manage to open my mouth

“Me too.” I whisper weakly

“Turn on the TV! The news should be on now.” Says Natalie

Chloe turns on the TV

“Yesterday a devastating event happened in the city, a group of robbers robbed a bank in Bainbridge Street, New York, causing six deaths and ten injuries..” reported the woman

My eyes widen as I see a car flipping and crushing one of the pedestrians, I see another car smash into a flower store causing glass to shatter on a girl lying on the floor.

“Isn’t that you!?....” I hear Chloe say covering her mouth in terror

I squint my eyes at the screen, I see a fragile blonde girl all dirty gasping for air with tears in her eyes holding her arm out for help.

That’s me…..

I look away from the TV, I can’t watch this anymore.

“Spiderman appeared in the scene, saving as many lives as he can. He unfortunately failed to stop the robbers from escaping with the money. This leaves the work to the FBI.” Reports the woman.

I look at the TV again, I see another car screeching towards me on the screen, Spiderman grabs me and swings me over, one of the gang members shoots Spiderman in the leg and he drops me chest first on the road.

That explains the three broken ribs

“Spiderman saved you!” says Natalie looking at me 

I smile and nod.
