"Thanks for telling me the truth, father. I have only one request." Ryland stated.
Grainger waited for a second, formulating his response. It seemed odd to him the wording of Ryland's statement.
"What would that be?" Grainger asked.
"I want to be trained and further develop my powers." Ryland demanded.
"I don't think that is a good idea, Ryland. So many things could go wrong..."
"Like what?" Ryland interrupted.
"Like falling to the dark side." Grainger muttered.
The cold words he spoke froze his lips as he stared into Ryland's eyes. The chills spread from his tongue to his spine and made their way up his neck. He felt a cruel, dark, presence. Grainger put a hand out, shielding Ryland just as Reagan burst through the doors. She appeared with her finger held tightly against her lips. Ryland gasped at the sudden noise. The room fell completely silent as Reagan jumped inside and close the door. She turned to meet eyes with Grainger as she locked the door. Reagan bent down to look under the door. She counted seven pairs of boots, black boots. The same black boots worn by the previous enemy dressed in all black. She watched as a glass bowl came closer and closer to the ground before it shattered. Grainger's hand crept over to Ryland's mouth. Preventing him from making any noise. Reagan stood slowly and backed away from the door. She stood beside the door and grabbed a blaster from inside her jacket. Ryland's eyes fluttered with anger. Reagan looked over to Grainger. She held up three fingers. She counted them back until there were done and she opened the door. Grainger through himself into Ryland, knocking both of them out of the way. Ryland watched as blaster shots streaked through the air. He heard the bodies hit the floor.
"Dad, get out of the way!" Ryland yelled.
Grainger attempted to cover his mouth but Ryland squiggled and squirmed until he was out of Grainger's arms. Ryland bolted for the door with Grainger chasing after him.
"Ryland! Ryland, stop!" Grainger screamed. He watched in terror as Ryland ran directly to one of the figures. Grainger stood still as he witnessed Ryland reached out with his hand and the figure went flying through the wall. Ryland turned around with black eyes and black hair. He winked at Grainger as he worked his way down the line. Reagan and Ryland fought back to back. She doudged the blaster shots and tossed the guys over to Ryland. From there, Ryland would use his powers to through them through walls or choke them. Still amazed by Ryland's talent in dark side abilities, Grainger was not paying attention to the final villain lurking behind him.
Grainger saw his reflection in the blade as a hand sporting a black glove grabbed him around the neck and another hand held a blade to his neck.
"Take another step and I kill him!" the voice warned.
Ryland narrowed his eyes, about to go full charge on this person before Reagan's hand shout out and pushed him to the ground.
"Why are you here?" Reagan questioned as she studied the figure.
All the others were men but this way clearly a woman. She stood tall in black high healed boots, tight black pants, and a shirt with silver crystals. Behind her flowed a long, purple, cape. Her face was covered by her wavy black hair.
"Depends on who you ask," She stated as she raised her head.
Ryland looked up into the eyes.
"Olivia." he uttered.
"Very good, Ryland Cross. Oh Grainger, he is very cute but did you really think after what you did you were going to get away with a happily ever after?"
"I didn't kill her." Grainger choked out.
"Liar!" Olivia yelled, throwing Grainger to the ground in front of her. Grainger scampered over to Ryland and Reagan.
"You come seaking revenge for your sister's death, a vendetta." Ryland declared.
"Yes but no. I come for more then revenge, I come for you." Olivia announced.
"Him? Olivia, please. He is the only thing I have left." Grainger begged.
"Valarina was the only thing I had left but you took her from me so now I will return the favor." Olivia replied.
"You are lying. You were there the day I was born. You overheard what the medical droids told Reagan about me." Ryland explained.
Grainger glanced at Ryland and then back to Olivia, watching her every move, ready to strike.
"You have grown much since the last time I saw you. Wiser too. So Reagan. are you going to tell him or should I?" Olivia threatened.
"Tell me what?" Grainger wondered, very alarmed.
"When Ryland was born, the droids told me that he was the most powerful of all the people that possessed powers like his." Reagan confessed.
"More than just that. He is the Chosen One." Olivia finished.
"The Chosen One?" Ryland questioned, stepping closer to Olivia.
"Yes, have you ever noticed how you know exactly what people are going to say and what they are going to do? Why you know things that you had never known before? Why you can look into peoples' eyes and revisit their memories?" Olivia shouted to make her power clear.
Grainger looked down at the floor in shock. He knew what this meant. Ben and Ryland weren't twins, Ryland was Ben from the future. He had gotten trapped in the past when he fell into a black hole on a mission many years in the future. This begs the question of who is the real Ryland? Is Ryland the copy or is Ben the copy?
"I have lived this all before. That is why I know everything." Ryland figured out.
"Yes young Ryland. You possess great power. More power in your finger than your father has in his whole body. Come with me and I can insure that you never get trapped in this endless cycle again. Come with me and you will be free." Olivia proposed.
"Ryland! No, don't do it! She only wants you for your powers!" Grainger screamed as Ryland began walking towards her.
"I know what I have to do." Ryland whispered as he came to Olivia's side.
