Delta company is to move out to Savannah, Tennessee. We also received a surprise visit from overall commander of the Army of the Ohio himself, Don Carlos Buell. He tells each of us that his colleague Ulysses Simpson Grant has just completed capturing Forts Henry and Donelson. With these two victories, the Union seemed closer to victory, but I should have known better that the war would not end before Christmas. Ethan has been getting a little nervous for some reason, but has shown no signs of tension. It's possible that because our unit has not experienced combat yet, he could be feeling the anxiety of waiting for the moment to prove his worth for our great nation. Benjamin has been training harder than ever during our drill sessions and I have been keeping a very close eye on that snob Miles. I'm still convinced that in the first engagement we encounter, his arrogance will lead to his own downfall. I didn't know then when my first engagement would take place, but I was praying that it wouldn't be my only one.
