Dominic looked at Summer. How could his beautiful daughter be so cold and unfeeling? He stood and looked at her, waiting for her to explain. She looked down at the photos on the table.
"Look at the photos Daddy." Summer said. Dominic glanced at all the photos spread on the table.
"I mean really look at them Daddy! Pick them up and look at your whore girlfriend!" Summer shouted.
Dominic looked at the photos. There were so many men. Why did Xanthe ever feel the need to do this, he thought. His heart was heavy. All Xanthe had ever done was be there for Summer and him. She had been their shoulder to cry on and as far as he knew neither of them had ever returned the favour. He shed a tear as he looked at the photos.
"Why bring these out Summer?" he asked.
"I remembered using them to get what we wanted at school Daddy, and I thought I could use them to get rid of her." she said.
"Did you not realise how much these photos would hurt me?" he asked.
"No i didn't want to hurt you Daddy, just Xanthe. I want you to leave her. I love you Daddy" she said.
"I love you Summer, you are my daughter. This is Xanthe's past. It should have stayed in the past. By hurting her you have hurt me." he said.
"I just want you to love me Daddy. Since Mum died I have felt you push me away. Please love me Daddy." she cried.
"I do love you Summer. I am sorry if you felt pushed aside. I didn't mean too. I was sad like you." he explained "Xanthe loves you too Summer, she is your best friend." he explained.
"No Daddy! She will go with any man! You saw the photos. She is having your baby to replace me!" Summer said still crying.
"Summer I need to get you some help. I think I should take you to the hospital" he said softly and calmly.
"OK Daddy. If it makes you love me I will go." Summer sobbed.
"I always have and always will love you my beautiful daughter" he said.
How could he not have seen Summer falling apart? His own daughter needed him. He had been dealing with his own issues and totally missed hers. He took her to the hospital and had her committed. He sat in his car and cried. How was he going to fix everything? He needed Xanthe. He needed her to still love him, and Summer.
