Three aircraft flew through space, they were returning to New Earth in order for the humans to get back home; there they would receive proper medical evaluation and care. Hours had passed slowly; each team member had received multiple wounds, some far worse than others, almost to the point of death if they were not treated soon.
Samuel walked around the ship for the tenth time. He had a while ago changed into blue pants, a black t-shirt, and a white hoodie over that.
It was at least a fourth of a mile to walk the whole inside. He had been walking for about an hour and a half now, constantly his mind trailed back towards the lone figure that lay on the white table now stained red. Three medial personnel leaned over her working non-stop in order to save her life. He rested his arms on the rail that over looked the two giant windows, stars passed by along with comets and rock. "Adalyn." He said in almost a whisper, "why was it you?" A single tear ran down his face leaving behind a clear stain.
Samuel hadn't been able to reconnect to the Daskantos since they left and was beginning to wonder, "Can he still hear me? Or are we now no longer able to talk?" He pondered this as he stood leaning over the railing, crying for his wounded teammates. "I've failed them and now Adalyn is close to death. Why was I chosen to lead!" He slammed his fist down on the railing, causing himself even more pain. "Aah!" Turning around, he walked over to the nearest door, it lead outside into a clear dome in order to look out and allowing people to breath. He walked to the end of the room looking out into the endless space; no one was here, only himself and his feelings. "Daskantos, if you can hear me, please give me a sign. Samuel waited for a good ten minutes for something to happen, but nothing did. He sighed and turned to walk out.
"Hey, Samuel." He jumped, not expecting anyone else on the room. "Silvia? I thought you were on another ship." She smiled and walked passed him, staring into the darkness of space. "I was, but when I heard what had happened to my sister, I requested to be brought over here. I only arrived a few minutes ago." Samuel walked over and stood next to her. He didn't know what to say, Adalyn's condition was far worse then he had once thought, the blade was heated, therefore, it burned her. "I...Adalyn is..." Silvia stopped him to his relief. "No, I'll go and check on her later and see for myself." A single tear ran down her check. "Adalyn, I can't lose you." she whispered only loud enough for herself to hear. Samuel stood next to her, placing his arm around her lightly rubbing her shoulder. "It's okay, she's strong and I'm sure she will survive this." Silvia leaned against him, resting her head against his shoulder. She began to cry as tears flowed down. Samuel watched with sadness, her tears sparkled as the light from a nearby planet hit against them. He hated himself for not being able to care for everyone; they had gotten hurt because of him, and now he had to live with it, knowing that he had hurt them.
They stood there for a long while, letting time pass by. Silvia had stopped crying and now stood next to Samuel. They both starred into space, watching everything shoot by. "Silvia, how did you find me so quickly if you just landed? And why didn't Aiden come?" Samuel said, wanting to change the mood of sadness. She lightly smiled, knowing what he was trying to do. "Aiden was contacted by the Elders, so he and Niko are now in a sort meeting with them. He would have wanted to come though. And I found you only because I was just wandering around when I saw you over here, watching the stars go bye. I had been looking for my room they had given me but couldn't find it, so I decided to take a look around the ship." Samuel raised an eyebrow. "Do you need help finding it? I've been here for a while now and kinda know my way around." Silvia reached into her pocket and pulled out a piece of paper with writing on it. "This is my room number, 36. Do you happen to know where it is?" Samuel thought for a moment. "That's right next to mine. I'll take you there, they probably have a change of clothes for you if you want to get out of your armor." Silvia smiled. "Thanks Sam, that would be nice." He led the way over to her room. "If you need anything, just knock on my door." He said while smiling. "Thanks." She walked in closing the door behind her. Samuel turned and walked over to his room and onto his bed. His door closed automatically as he fell on his bed, burying himself under the white covers. He was exhausted more than he knew and soon fell asleep.
