Himeko's Pov
~ Later @ the Sakamaki Mansion ~
"Well, I never expected this" I said as I studied myself in the mirror.
After we arrived at the mansion, Shu-sama quickly took me upstairs to an empty room. He then instructed me to change into the clothes laid out for me on the bed.
I obediently did what he told me and put on the dress only to see that it was a uniform. The downside is that its a maid outfit.
"Well, a promise is a promise" I said as I stepped out of the empty room to see him.
"Doll-chan!" he said in his flirtatious voice which made me cringe.
Of all the brothers I could encounter, it had to be him...
"Laito-sama" I said in a emotionless tone as I stared at him.
He then began to eye me from head to toe with a smirk plastered on his face. I fought the urge to slap him when his eyes landed on my chest.
"Eyes up here, young master" I said as he looked at me with those seductive green eyes of his.
"Ne? Doll-chan, I didn't know you were into cosplay" he said with a smirk.
"No... I wasn't. I was told to work as your maid for today" I told him.
"Really? Well in that case, clean my room" he said as he walked away with a smirk.
Note to Self: Clean Laito-sama's room last
"Well, time to get started" I said as I tightened my apron.
I started by cleaning every room in the mansion then I cleaned the hallway. After that, I immediately cleaned the kitchen and the living room. I took a short amount of rest. After that, I went to the front entrance and swept the dead leaves away.
"There you are Hime-chan" a familiar voice said as I looked to see that it was Satsuki.
"Satsu-kun" I said as he approached me.
"Hime-chan, Natsu and I were looking for you and why are you dressed like that?" he asked.
"I'm maid for today, Satsu. I'm sorry that I made you and Natsuki worried"
"Maid for today?"
"Hai, I'm a maid for today"
"Himeko, let me help you" he said as I shook my head in reply.
"Go patrol the mansion. I'll be fine" I said.
"But Hime-"
"Please Satsu, it's better if you two patrol tonight while I handle this minor request from the masters"
Satsuki gave me a nod as he went away to patrol somewhere else. I continue to do my work in the front entrance of the mansion.
Once I was done, I went to the backyard to start on those rose bushes. The Sakamaki mansion was told to have two different kinds of roses.
The white roses represent Christa Sakamaki and deep red roses represent Beatrix and Cordelia Sakamaki. All three women were known as the wives of Karl Heinz and the mothers of my masters.
But there is a rumor that the Sakamaki family had a field of white irises hidden somewhere. It is said that it was in honor of the human girl they fell in love with- Aoi-Hime. It is just a rumor though. I haven't seen any white iris fields so it was just mere gossip that maids and high class ladies tend to engage in.
"Himeko?" a soft voice called out to me.
I turned around only to see Yui-sama with her usual quiet voice and frightened expression whenever she's near us vampires.
"Yui-sama... Do you need something?" I ask her.
"A-Actually I... I" she said stuttering.
"Yui-sama, please speak clearly" I told her but she became silent all of a sudden.
Yui-sama's eyes shifted from her shoes to me and back to her shoes. She looked like a child who's been scolded by a parent for misbehaving.
"Yui-sama" I called out to her.
"Himeko... What are you?" she said which shocked me.
"Pardon?" I asked.
"Himeko, what are you?" she asked me.
I sighed as I looked at her.
"I'm a vampire" I said.
"But the brothers said you're the princess of hybrids. Shouldn't you be one?" she told me.
"Yui-sama, not all rulers have to be the same species as their people... But I must be honest. I'm not purely vampire" I replied.
"T-Then what are you?" she questioned.
"I'll give you a hint, Yui-sama. It's up to you to guess what I am" I said as she gave me a nod.
"If you guess this right, you can request anything from me"
"A-Anything?" she asked.
"Anything" I replied. Yui-sama was satisfied with this little game of ours.
"Smiles in darkness, ticks your wickedness. What or who do you think I am?" I told her.
Yui-sama's eyes widen at my words.
"Wait, you didn't tell me the hint was a riddle" she said.
"Good luck, Yui-sama" I said as I left the stunned girl alone.
I keep walking in the rose garden in silence. The cold wind swayed my long silver hair. I looked up to the sky to see no stars but a very bright yellow moon. It was too bright for my taste.
Soft sinister giggles can be heard and I was quickly sent to a field of blood red spider lilies.
"What do you want?" I said to the girl behind me.
Her smile was charming but scary at the same time.
"I just want to remind you about something" she said.
"Oh? And what would that be?" I asked her.
"You are running out of time, Himeko"
"I know that"
"Don't stop me this time alright? Or you will face consequences" she threatened me.
"We made a deal. You'd let me live but in return, I'll let you out" I said which made her happy.
"Very good Himeko! You do learn from your mistakes"
"Is that all you have to say?" I asked her.
"Nope! I have one more thing to say before I go"
"What is it?"
"I want you to be my little robin bird when I get out okay?"
"So I won't get bored playing with those peasants" Her expression grew dark.
"As you requested, My Savior" I said as I knelt down on one knee with my head down.
She gave me a sinister smirk and disappeared. The field of spider lilies where replaced with roses. I stood up and turned to face the deep red rose in front of me.
I plucked it. I clenched the petals in my hand and opened it only to find the deep red petals turn into withered dead ones.
"Blood Red" I muttered as the petals fell from my hand. I then turned around to leave not noticing the moon has turned into a dull silver color.
