Himeko's POV

"Himeko-chan" I heard Satsuki's voice call from behind me.

"Yes Satsuki?"

"Are you sure you are alright to go to work today? You can go home and leave the job to me and Natsu-nii" he said trying to hide the worry in his tone.

"I'm fine" I said quietly.

Yesterday, the twins found out that I nearly drowned in the school swimming pool. They wouldn't believe me when I said it was my fault. They insistently kept trying to get me to confess who pushed me. The bastard has to pay they said. And when my brothers later found out about the incident, the coaxing worsened as they started to gang up on me.

Stefan and Carmen were my means of escape. With Estel as my ride, we flew away from the Mukami Mansion. I stayed at Ryuuki's apartment for a while until he sold me out and told everyone of my whereabouts.

"You know it's not too late to give the work load to us and go home for today" Natsuki said appearing right in front of me.

"I told you I'm fine" I pushed him out of my way. I have repeated myself too many times and I don't know why it doesn't get through their skulls.

"Fine! Be that way you stubborn princess"

It was getting too difficult to contain the growl rising up my throat. I stiffly unclenched my fists getting ready to draw first blood when- "Alright you two" Satsuki intervened.

"I can already sense the violence from where I'm standing" he said effectively dampening the situation.

"Leave it to Satsuki to break up a seemingly childish fight" I mumbled shaking off the tension from my shoulders. I hate how Natsuki always manages to get on my nerves. He knows too well how to irritate me. Distancing myself a few feet ahead, I tried to call for Estel but Natsuki seems to always be bothersome.

"What is it?" I said not looking at him.

"I said your brothers are here"

That earned him a questionable look.

"My brothers? Are you sure its them?" They promised not to go to the Sakamaki mansion anymore once I start my job. I specifically told them to stay away so we can avoid any potential conflict. How could they risk starting another fight?

"I don't tell lies Himeko-sama I did see your brothers... Well two of them, it was Kou and Azusa" Natsuki explained.

"Do you know why they are here?"

"No. But your blond brother has this look of pure anger on his face"

"Knowing Kou-nii I'm guessing he is up to something. I better go get them before-" A loud crash, various yelling and cursing can be heard inside.

"Speak of the devil" Natsuki muttered.

I gave out a heavy sigh and teleported to the living room where a brawl seemed to take place.

"How dare you lie about hurting Himeko-chan!" Kou-nii yelled. I stood there shocked. He knew who did it. My eyes unwillingly looked towards Ayato-sama. "Why would I lie about pushing your fake sister!"

I almost faltered in my step. I looked around but nobody seems to have noticed. And then I realize what he said.

"Fake sister?!" Kou-nii yelled as he was held back by Azusa-nii. "Himeko-chan is my biological sibling! She's related to me and Kirra-chan!"

"Bullsh*t! If she is your sibling, why did Kirra tell us she is your only sister!" Ayato-sama said with the same intensity.

"I'm not..? But Karl-sama said..." The pounding of my heart seemed too hollow. That same look in his eyes, was that what it meant?

"Himeko-chan... was sick... and dying" Azusa-nii spoke as if remembering a painful memory. "Karl-sama took her away and kept her in a... medical facility" he said keeping his head down.

"How come I don't remember?" I spoke out loud catching the attention of everyone in the room.

"Hime-neko" Kou-nii said calmly.

"Brother, why are you here? Didn't I tell you not to come here to avoid conflict" I said in a much stern and clearer voice.

"You did. But I want him to tell me why he almost killed you yesterday" Kou-nii said looking at the Sakamaki brothers with disgust.

"I didn't push her" Ayato-sama said almost indignantly.

"Liar!" Kou-nii yelled and was about to attack only to be held back again by Azusa-nii.

The two families started to have another verbal fight again. I couldn't take it anymore. I summoned Durendal and plunged my blade to the ground making the room shake and everyone in it silent.

"Good! Now I have your attention" I gestured for my brothers to approach me. Slowly they walk towards me and once they were close enough, I grabbed Kou-nii's arm pulling him down to my height.

"Hime-neko that hurts" my brother whined as I stared him down.

"Brother, when I said don't come here. I mean it. I don't want a family war on my hands" I said. I can almost feel my eyes change colour.

"I tried... to stop him Himeko" Azusa-nii said.

"I know you did and that's why Kou-nii, you have to go home now with Azusa-nii"

"But Himeko-"

"C'mon Kou... I don't want to... Bother Himeko-chan anymore" Azusa-nii said.

"Fine, we'll retreat for now" Kou-nii said as he glared back at the Sakamaki Brothers.

"If any of you hurt Himeko-chan again, Kirra would never forgive you" Kou-nii threatened making the Sakamaki Brothers shiver at the mention of their former princess's name.

I was about to scold him but he got out of my grasp and walked past me. Azusa-nii followed suit but with a look of sadness in his eyes.

"I'm terribly sorry about my brother. I promise it won't happen again" I apologised as I left the room to catch up to my brothers.

MEANWHILE

Somewhere in the land where souls reside, a young pure one sits on a cliff singing softly a tune filled with sorrow and longing.

Dawn breaks, our night fades away
Someday we'll get to stay

No more sneaking around
One day we'll have our day ...

"Such a sorrowful song you are singing there, Princess" the cloaked man said gaining the girl's attention.

"Yoshibara-sama" The cloaked man approached to sit by her.

"Tell me what upsets you, my princess"

"They forgot about Kirra again because they have a new bride!" the girl said with tears in her eyes.

"They don't love Kirra anymore"

The man just wiped the tears off her face. "That's not true my princess. One of them still loves you"

"They abandoned Kirra again. Kirra wants to teach them a lesson"

"No Princess. Your heart is already tainted from your last outburst. I will not let that happen again" the man said as he stood up from his spot.

"You are not allowed to leave the afterlife" the cloaked man said before leaving. It was one more unheeded warning. No different from the ones she heard before. Despite all that, she would still leave.

The pure soul gazed back at the moon's stagnant illumination. "I'll teach them a lesson and make sure they will not forget me again" Her words were unheard but she continued to sing her song.
