Chapter 6:
As I awake, I slowly pull down the thick grey comforter. Sunlight is streaming through the cracked blinds. It's almost peaceful. But of course, nothing is peaceful when you're on the same train as the man running the corrupt government, the same man that almost killed your sister, who's most likely going to kill you, traveling to who knows where to face who knows what.
Eventually I manage to somewhat calm my thoughts, and I get up. I change into a simple black T-shirt, and some grey jeans,(that are supposed to be "tight", but instead they awkwardly sag on my thin legs.) This is obviously a train for tributes, and am sickened by the fact that this is the place children are carried to there deaths.
I am lacing up my boots when there is a loud knock at the door. Ignoring whoever it is, I somewhat comb through the large knots in my hair and form a long braid. I've just stepped into the hallway when I realize I am face to face with Gale.
"Gale?" I stutter. It's unbelievable. I stare into his grey eyes, almost not believing that it's him. His eyes are sagging and his body's covered in bruises turning a sickly yellow. "Wha...What are you doing here?"
"No idea," he replies. "Peacekeepers came to my house at about midnight last night, and practically dragged me onto the train."
"Snow came to my house," I say slowly. "I don't know why we're here, but I'm pretty sure it's not a tea party at the President's."
He laughs and then hugs me. I'm almost glad he's here so that I'm not alone, but then I remember we're most likely traveling to our deaths, and am guilty for wanting him here.
As we enter the dining room, I've just started on my muffin when I realize we're entering the Capital. Some might say it's beautiful, but it sends a shiver down my spine.

We enter towards the back of the city. Snow hands us over to a group sort of resembling scientists. I can tell they're citizens because of the colored hair, tattoos, and piercings, but its the long white lab coats with syringes poking out of they're pockets, that make them seem different.
We follow them up a dark stairwell into a a long hallway. At the end of the hallway a green faced man unlocks and opens a heavy room. It's there where I feel a blindfold being slipped on my face and knotted in the back.
I'm dragged up and down stairs and through dozens of rooms before I'm jerked to a stop. Then my knees are kicked out from underneath me and I lay on the ground unconscious.
