"Where could he be?" I yell through the junior school parking lot "Hal, you need to calm down, we'll find him" Josh says. I can't believe I was so irresponsible to not pick him up, I look down at my phone and it was almost three thirty, that's almost thirty minutes after the regular time I would pick him up. "We gotta drive around town, he's definitely not here, and if he left the school he couldn't have gone too far" I say panicking as I get back into the driver's seat and Josh following behind me. I take my phone in one hand and I place the other hand on the wheel, "Halle don't text and drive" Josh says "then help me!" I yell at him "tell me what you want me to do, babe" Josh pleads "grab my phone and call Garrett" I order him "why him? Can we call the police or-" "no!" I say cutting him off "call Garrett and if you don't want to talk to him that bad just put him on speaker" I tell him. At this point I'm annoyed by Josh, I can't believe that his feelings for Garrett is getting in the way with trying to find Bo.
Josh takes my phone and I can see from the corner of my eye that he's dialing Garrett's number, I hear the ring and after two rings Garrett answers.
"Hello?" Garrett says through the phone
"Hey, is Bo at your place?" I ask him hoping that Bo was over there
"No why?" he says and a rush of fear goes through my body, where could he be?
"I was late picking him up and now we don't know where he is because he might've left the school or something"
"Wait who's we?"
"Me and Josh"
"Oh" he says and it's silent once again in the car
"Ok if you see him at all can you please call me?" I plead
"Yes for sure" he says
"Ok thanks Gar"
"Good luck Hal, call me if you need anything else" he says and he hangs up
We continue to to drive around and it's silent between Josh and I and at this point I don't care, I was too busy trying to look for Bo. I turn into my street and drive down hoping Bo was there just walking home. All of a sudden I see a little boy catching a football, it was at Tim Riggins' house. "Oh my god, there he is!" I say. I step on the gas and the car speeds down the block, the closer that I got to the Riggins home it was more clear that Bo was the one running around in his front lawn and it looks like he's having fun. I immediately put the car in park not caring that it was in the middle of the street not parked properly whatsoever. "Bo!" I yell as I step out of the car and start to run towards them, both Tim and Bo are looking at me and Bo starts to run towards me. I grab Bo and pull him into a hug, I feel him hug me back and I've never felt so relieved in my life.
"Where have you been" I say worried
"With Tim Riggins" he says smiling and turning back to Tim and Tim returns the smile
"Why? I was suppose to pick you up, did you walk home?"
"Yeah it wasn't too far" he says
"Ok let's go" I say getting up from the ground and grabbing his hand
We start to approach the car and Bo turns around and looks back at Tim, "bye Tim Riggins" he waves and I see Tim smirk at him and then he looks up at me and all I do is smile. At this point we're at the car and Bo stops his tracks, I look back at him and I see him look straight at Josh who was in the car. "Bo, c'mon let's go" I tell him "what's he doing here?" he says pointing at Josh. I look behind Bo from afar Tim was watching us. "Hey we need to go ok?" I tell him "I don't want him with us" he whines holding his ground, Bo was never one to like Josh so I should've seen this coming. "We're gonna drop him off now ok? Then it'll just be us and we'll go to the Alamo Freeze just like I promised" I tell him and he finally gives in and gets into the car.
