"Halle wake up!" Bo says shaking my body causing me to wake from my deep sleep. I groan but that doesn't stop Bo from shaking me. I grab ahold of both his hands which caused him to stop. "What Bo?" I groan "we're late and Mom left early with the car" he says in a panic voice.
I sit myself up straight looking right at the digital clock on my desk. 8:30 it read. How was this possible? I've never slept in. I track back to how my night ended last night. I look down and I was wearing the same outfit as yesterday with my binders scattered on my bed, did I really fall asleep while doing homework? This was the second day of the week where I found myself wearing the outfit I wore the day before.
I rush out of bed taking my elastic out of my messy bun, "Bo go eat, we'll leave in five minutes" I tell him but he doesn't move. I look down at him and he's ready to go to school. His bag was on his shoulders and his shoes were all tied up on his feet. "Halle I already ate" he says folding his tiny arms across his body. "Ok just go wait for me outside, I'll be out in a minute ok?" he rolls his eyes showing attitude but follows what I told him to do. "How are we gonna get to school, Hal? Mom took the car" he whines as he reaches the hallway, "we'll walk, Bo. Now let me get ready so we can leave" I snap at him without even making eye contact. I immediately feel bad, I look over to where he was standing but he wasn't there anymore. He was mad I can tell.
This sucked. Usually if Mom couldn't drive us Dad would be here. But he's nowhere to be seen since Monday. Has he not realized that we need him around here?
I grab a plaid mini skirt with a white tank top which was the first thing I could find in my closet. I looked at myself in the mirror cringing coming to realization how much skin I was showing. I immediately grab a random black jacket and my school bag then heading straight out the door.
"Bo?" I yell through the house while clumsily trying to put my shoes on. There was no response. "Bo!" I yell a little louder, how is this happening right now? Didn't this happen two days ago? How did I manage to lose him twice in one week and one of those times being in our tiny house. "Bo this isn't funny stop hiding, buddy" I say but nothing. I open the sliding door to the backyard hoping to god he was going to be back there. "Bo?" I call out again. I begin to panic, is this seriously how my day is going to start.
I rush over to the front door and jerk it open. A feeling of relief floods my body as I see him standing in the front lawn, but he wasn't alone. Tim Riggins in a muscle tank and dark wash jeans was standing over him. I couldn't help but stare at Tim. His arms bulged at his every move. "Hi Halle" he says cutting my train of thought fully noticing that I was just checking him out. I couldn't get a word out. I managed to give him a smile as I try to fix myself. I must've looked like a psycho coming out of the door. I turn around to lock the door and using the time to take a breath. There was way too much adrenaline going through my body and I still haven't let it sink in with the fact that this was the third day in a row that Tim Riggins was standing in my front lawn.
I'm not interested in Tim at all. At the end of the day he's still Texas' biggest asshole out there but you couldn't deny the fact that he was a very attractive person.
"Ok Bo we have to go" I tell Bo as he's with his arms crossed his body just like Tim
"Where you going?" Tim asks. Is it not obvious? It's eight in the morning on a Thursday in September, where does he think we're going?
"Um school?" I say rhetorically
"I can give you two a ride" he offers
Before I could say no, Bo immediately takes the offer and before I know it he was already seated in Tim's truck. I follow behind Bo sitting in the seat next to him. The truck smelt pretty refreshing to how I would ever picture it, not that I think about what Tim's truck smelt like but it was just a shock because it was so unlike him.
