hey guys! this is my first fan fiction! so lmk what you think and suggest more what you guys want to read about!
I wake up with the sound of screaming downstairs, "get out of this house now!" Mom's voice booms and a door slams. My door creak opens and I hear little feet pad through my bedroom floor, "Halle" Bo's voice says softly I move to make room for him on my bed and he lays beside me with his massive monkey, George. "Dad's gone again" he wimps "it's ok, he'll be back" I say reasuring him but I don't want him to come back. My Dad was not close to the ideal Father for me and he is not a nice man. He gets kicked about twice a week and I guess today was just one of those days, "Bo we have to go to school" I tell him and he gets up and I follow him.
I hold his hand and we make our way to his room, I walk over to his drawers and I take out a blue shirt and grey shorts. "I'm gonna take you to school today, ok?" I say and he nods. He takes off his pajama shirt then looks at me and raises both his arms showing he's ready for me to help him put on his blue shirt that I picked out. I help him get changed and then he runs over to the kitchen to go fix himself breakfast.
Bo is only six years old and he already knows most of the problems that this family is going through and I honestly I don't think it's fair that he has to go through this at six years old.
I make my way back to my room and start to get ready. I put on a denim skirt and a black strapless top, I throw my dark hair in front of me to reduce exposure. I then throw my books in my bag and make my way to the kitchen where Bo is. "Hey, eat quick we gotta go" I tell Bo while grabbing a banana. "Hey kids" Mom greets walking into the kitchen "hey" I say back "Mom can you come to my play on friday? I play Mowgli remember?" Bo chirps "yeah baby of course I'm gonna come" she says cheerfully as she grabs her coffee from the counter and makes her way to the table next to Bo.
This is so classic of her, why does she have to fake it? After every screaming match she has with Dad it's not like Bo and I can't hear it. "Mom can I take the car today?" I ask her leaning against the counter "why?" she asks me looking up and making eye contact with me "I have to pick up Dad's prescription after school remember? At the same time I can just take Bo to school and pick him after" I explain and for some reason this brings a smile to her face, "keys are by the door, honey" she says. I never know what's going on in her mind, even though she smiled she can break into a fit at any moment. "Ok let's go Bo" I say and he gets up, gives Mom a kiss and runs over to put his shoes on, "drive safe alright?" she says to me and I nod in response.
We make it outside and Bo excitingly runs into the car and I follow right behind him. I fix the the rearview mirror and I see Bo put his seatbelt on then he looks up and smiles and this causes me to smile back through the mirror. "So how's school, Bo?" I ask him "well," he starts "it's almost show and tell in class" he says "oh yeah? That's exciting" "yeah except I don't know what to present, James is bringing one of his Dad's military medals since he was in the military fighting" he babbles on "hey, I promise we'll find something way cooler than that" I tell him. We continue to drive and all of a sudden Bo's face lights up and he clutches the edge of the window, "that's Tim Riggins' house!" he cheerfully says. I furrow my eyebrows shocked that Bo knows who Tim Riggins was I look outside the window and I see the small house with the massive blue sign outside of it, Tim Riggins 33. "How do you know, Tim?" I ask him "I don't but I'm just like his best fan ever!" he says excitingly and this makes me chuckle "what? Why?" "because he's Tim Riggins, number thirty three, full back of the Dillon Panthers" he says. Since when was Bo a Panther fan? I know this whole town is but I would never think he would become one at six years old, "so you like the Panthers now?" I tease "yes, Connor's brother is your friend Garrett and we got to watch some of the game tapes at his house and I hope I can play like him one day for the Panthers too!" he says "I bet you will" "Halle?" "hmm" I respond looking at him through the rearview, "are you friends with Tim Riggins?" "uhm, well we've seen each other around but we haven't really got to talking" I say and Bo just nods his head and looks back out of the window.
