Chapter 52

EMMA'S POV
A MONTH LATER
BEEP! BEEP! BEEP!
"Wake up, Emma! Today's the day you start school again." My mum shouted. I still had no idea how she could hear my alarm from downstairs...I switched my alarm off and had a stretch. A month ago today, I was in a hospital bed and I came out of a coma...now today's the day I start fresh.
Me and Mark are still together. I don't know how he puts up with me. "Come on, Emma. Get up." My dad poked his head through my door as he walked past. "Yes, yes. I'm getting up." I rolled my eyes and dragged myself out of bed. I walked into my bathroom and got freshened up.
PING!
I got a text message. I grabbed my phone and looked at it. It was from Mark.
Morning beautiful. I'll walk you to school, I'll be there in 10 Xx
I replied.
Morning gorgeous. Ok, I'll be waiting <3 x
I picked out my outfit for today which was just some black ripped skinny jeans, a white crop top and a thin jacket. "Emma! You are going to be late." My mum yelled. I rolled my eyes once again. "Ugh. Why do they worry so much..." I muttered under my breath. I grabbed my bag with my school things in and my phone and headed downstairs. My siblings must have already left because I didn't hear anything from them this morning. "Morning mum, dad." I smiled. "Morning sweetheart. Granola bar?" My mum asked me. "Yeah, sure." I replied as I sat down at the table. She got it out of the cupboard and passed it over to me.
DING DONG! DING DONG!
That must be Mark. I got up and headed for the door. Turns out he let himself in. "Letting yourself in, I see?" I giggled. "Yep. Now, how are you feeling? You feeling okay?" Mark asked, giving me a hug. "I'm feeling good. Fresh start today." I smiled, going back to the table with Mark following me. "Good." Me and Mark talked about things for a bit while I ate my food and then went out the door for school. Today will be a good day...
