Mark has been gone for a month, and I miss him not being here. I have a doctors appointment today to get all my test results back. I hope I didn't have some std or any thing else. I sat down next to a pregnant girl.

" Hi." I said

" Hi." She said back. " Are you here for your checkup too?"

" No I'm not pregnant. I um.. I was assaulted awhile back and I'm here to get my blood results back."

" Oh I'm sorry. I didn't know."

" No it's ok really. My therapist says I shouldn't hide behind it. That I need to talk about it. Not everyone I meet, but you look like some one that I could say that to and not judge me."

" No never. Is the guy in jail at least? O by the way my name is Rebecca Jenkins."

" Mine is Carla Smith. I mean Jonson and yes they all went to jail. I still have to go to court but at least they are in jail."

" They?'

" Yes there were four of them." I told her the story and about mark and my marriage.

" Wow. That's horrible. But at least you found Mark. He seems like a real nice guy."

" Yes he is. He is away right now. In the Air Force."

" Oh."

" So how far a long are you?"

" Only five months I'm due in September."

" So what does your boyfriend think about it? Is he hoping for a boy or a girl?'

" He doesn't know. I tried to tell him but he didn't want to talk to me so I never did tell him."

" Sorry, I didn't mean to pry."

" No its ok. You told me about your story. So its only fair that I tell you about mine. I Liked a guy in school but he was with someone else. I thought they didn't belong together. So I asked a fellow player like me. To help me break them up. He said he would help me if I was his for two months. I agreed. He told me to go with him and watch them. He said they were really in love with each other. I didn't believe him but I did as he had asked. He only made love to me that one day. But it was enough. But anyway at the sweetheart dance. I went up to the guy that I thought I liked and I kissed him. It wasn't the same as Kyle's. But unfortunately when I kissed him. Kyle and the girl came out and saw this. Kyle left, I tried to talk to him that night but he told me to leave and never come back."

" Did you go back?" I asked when she stopped.

" I did the next day but he never came home. When I went to school on Monday. He wasn't there. He never came back to school. I just moved over here a few days ago."

" I'm sorry that's so sad."

" I didn't want to but I had no choice my dad found out and he kicked me out."

" Oh no where are you staying now?"

" At a shelter for now. I got a job at Stella's corner café."

" How long are you going to stay there?"

" Not long Stella that owns the café has a apartment above that she will rent me. I will move in by the end of the week. Cheap on the rent too. So at least after I have my baby I will still be able to afford it."

" That's so nice of her."

" Yes she is really nice. When I first came here I stopped to get something to eat and she was working the counter when I came in. I ended up telling her all about me. I guess she felt sorry for me. So she said I could work for her. And here I am. Taking care of myself and soon my baby too."
