When Carla looked at me. I could see the look in her eyes. She had a frightened look on her face. And when she took off to the bedroom. I was pissed at Terry for upsetting her. I ended up yelling at her as I went to the bedroom door to find it locked. Damn. Steve and Faith took Terry outside. I pulled out my pocket knife and picked the lock. I walked in and shut the door behind me. Carla was on the bed. I walked over and sat down next to her. She didn't look over at me. She just laid on the bed with her head on the pillow facing away from me. I placed my hand on her shoulder and I felt her stiffen.
" Carla." She didn't answer me. So I laid down next to her. She made room for me next to her. I wrapped my arms around her pulling her body into mine."
" Talk to me, Honey. Terry, my sister, is not mad at you. She never thought I would ever get married that's all."
" Why? Is it because of your ex?"
" Yes and no. The brother of my best friend was dating her. And when that night with Shelly happened. It hurt her also. And we both had said that we wouldn't get married for a long time after that to keep our hearts safe. Well it has been a long time and I want to get married now. To you, Carla. Please don't let it bother you."
" But I don't want her to be mad at you Mark. I don't want to come in between you and your family."
" You wont, trust me. She didn't mean anything about it."
" She doesn't even like me though." I heard the tears in her voice so I turned her over to face me.
" Hey don't cry." I said and kissed her forehead since her face was buried in my chest. " She hasn't gotten to met you yet. But she will like you I promise. And I am still going to marry you no matter what anyone might think about it. I marrying you not them."
" Did someone else say that you and I shouldn't get married?" She asked.
" No." I lied. Kind of. Steve didn't say that I shouldn't just asked why.
" But she will be mad at you. I don't want her to mad at you she is your sister. I really don't want her to be upset with you."
"She wont be. She was just shocked that I was getting married that's all."
" Are you sure?"
" Yes. I'm sure. Why don't I let her tell you and you can decided. Do you still want to marry me, Carla?"
" I. I just don't want your family mad at me for marrying you Mark."
" Trust me they wont. Just hold onto me. It will be ok."
" Ok."
" Come on lets go and meet my sister. My parents should be here soon and we can go into town to the church to get married. That is if you still want too!" I asked her. Hoping that she would still say that she did.
" Yes I do. As long as you say that you want too. I will."
" Good. How about a kiss to seal the deal?" I asked her.
" OK." I kissed her lips softly.
I really liked kissing her. Her soft warm lips, her shy response. The way that she would slowly put her arms around me. I think in time we could have a real marriage. But I was not interested in that right now. I just hope that we could come to trust each other. For her to know that I would never hurt her and me that she wouldn't leave me. But only time could tell. I would be gone for two years.
