Yes, you heard me right. Someone was moving in.
"Mum, do you know who's moving in?"
"I'm not too sure but why don't you go and say hello?"
I nod, meaning I wouldn't mind and headed out to their front gate. I thought there was some old granny moving in next door, that wouldn't be good...
"Hey what are you doing?" someone asks from behind. I jump in shock and turn around blushing, I was caught spying on some neighbour...
"Um... nothing,"
"Well, hey this is my house if you don't mind me saying," says the girl infront of me, she looks fairly nice and about my age. She was holding a poster of a puppy eating a purple cookie... weird.
"Oh, then we're neighbours," was my instant reply.
"Hey, I'm Shannon Doran," she says holding a hand for me to shake.
"I'm Eliza Payne," I say and shake her hand. "So..." I say awkwardly, "you need any help moving in? I don't have much to do today anyways."
"Sure! Maybe you can help me bring these things in the yard inside, that'll work."
We both started working immidiantly, we really got to know each other. She was 13, like me and loved cookies and puppies. Blue and purple were her favourite colours and Shannon had just moved in this morning. I was glad I was able to help, it was really fun to get to know someone.
"Hey thanks for helping Eliza! See ya soon," Shannon thanks.
"No probs, maybe we can do something tomorrow," I reply
"Sounds good!"
The sun rose again as I tiptoed down the stairs to get some toast and I ran out of my house.
"Hey Shaaannnnoon!" I yell to her window.
"Hey Eeeeeelllizaa! Howdy?"
"I'm good, coming down?"
"Yeah sure, will do." she replies immidiantly and comes down before I could start to get annoyed.
We walked around the neighbourhood and headed towards the park, it was a nice and sunny day and luckily we were pretty early, there wasn't many people here. Two people caught my eye, Stephanie and..... Chloe!?
"One sec, I need to tell that girl over there something," I say to Shannon.
I walk over to Chloe, "Hey Chloe,"
"Oh geez, Eliza I told you to back off now."
"Well, that wasn't very friendly of you, what's with you?"
"I don't care now, shoo!"
Chloe was surely being someone else... wow she is sure different.
