I was a 8 year old when I started my boxing career. Yes I was pretty young, but my father wanted me to start early for my own safety around others. All I remember when I was 8 was my father pushing me into the ring, telling me the same words he told me when I was born, "Be the one that changes everything around you, within you everything changes." I never forgot those words.
Every time I'll be in the gym punching the speed bag, my father will jump out of nowhere screaming, " Be the one that changes everything around you, within you everything changes." Yes this alway scared my ass. The other time I was using the speed bag, he jumped and scream again, I jumped super high that I accidentally punched him in his testicles. Yeah he wasn't happy after that, but hey it was his fault for scaring me.
Months passed by, and it's was Thursday, October 8, 2008, and I was already 9 years old. I had my first boxing match coming up. Every day my father will wake me up and take me to the gym to get my weight in and practice more.
When I was at the gym I saw my opponent working on her punches, to be honest I was scared, I never saw a girl punch that hard in my life. I told my ✭ dad, "Ves a la Niña de formación allí, creo que voy a morir el sábado en el ring, tengo miedo papá." My father answered back by saying, "Sé cambia's todo a tu alrededor, dentro de ti todo cambia." Those words actually helped me get out of my fears and work hard than I ever did before.
When I saw the punching bag, I punched it with all of my force making my sweat running faster, my blood boiling inside me. My opponent will look at me with a disgusting face. Her face to me was priceless 😂. So I put my arms in a 90 degree angle while flexing them in her face. My muscles were pumped up. She just turned around and continued her business, and I continued mine.
The day has come Saturday, October 10, 2008.
