A month had past, I was starting to walk thanks to my therapies the doctors were doing on me. I was finally able to talk and especially glad to go home again.
When I got home, I saw trophies in the trophies shelf. I started to remember my wonderful days of my boxing career. So I told my father when was I going to be able to training for my big San Francisco match in 2015.
He told me to wait until I was ready to punch again. But I wanted to train already. So for the past 3 years I been working on my moves and health. To continue, I started to practice on the move I wasn't able to do, the crossover.
After my horrible match I had a month later, I put on some weight in, which led to some type of a health problem. I knew that I had to get back into shape. A few weeks later when my father saw me ready, I began to go the the gym again. I saw all of my teammates practicing and asking if I was okay.
Of course I was okay, I felt better, but my father was scared if I'll get my brain damage again when this Championship arrives. I worked on everything I had worked on in the past. But there was a big change, I had to lose 170 pounds in order to fight in the championship. I used new equipment this time. I had to use the heavy bag, speed bag, double end bag, jump rope, medicine ball, and bag gloves.
Heavy bag was the most difficult one for me. It was 60 pounds more heavier than the punching bag. I began to punch it, with all of my force this time. Remembering my past, made me punch it even more hard.
I was wearing the sweating suit again. It was very uncomfortable to be honest, but it was good to lose weight on. I began to jump rope. When I jumped, I moved fast and and faster making my sweat drop even more. Then worked on my moves especially the crossover.
The days were passing by, I couldn't eat nothing but salad. A plain salad with no dressing on it just lettuces, cucumbers , tomatoes, and lastly onions. It was awful but hey it was a great change for me.
Don't forget, I still had my fathers words in my head. It's the only thing that I could become more strong with and once again, also the promise I made to my aunt.
A year was about to pass by and I got the day and month my fight was going to be at. June 20, 2015 in Oracle Arena, San Francisco. Just by the date, it was going to be a special fight because June 20 was the day my auntie went to heaven. I was excited to fight and win this belt for my aunt. My father was scared to lose me for good this time.
He was sitting on the bench and thinking about something. "Que pasa papá?" I said to him while I was walking towards him." Nothing mija, just thinking about your fight that's all." He replied. I know what he was think off, I was making a huge choice when I started again, and it was the best for me.
"What should you say if I fight my last important match and retire after it. When I'm ready to join the business boxing again, I'll back back from retirement. What do you think about my decision?" A surprise face came out of his face. He told me it was the best decision I ever done for now. I knew he was going to get happy, but anyway I did needed some time off for my family and friends.
The days were going to fast that there were only 4 more days until my fight against my opponent in San Francisco. I was at the airport waiting for my plane to arrive. I was all pack up, my family was going but not on plane, but on the road.
I hopped on my seat near the window. A girl behind me asked for a autograph, I didn't know I was that huge. Maybe she was in the boxing business too, so I signed her notebook making her day happy. 2 hours passed by and I was leaving the airport to my hotel.
When we arrived to our hotel, we booked our rooms and went straight to them. When I was opened my room I saw my manager inside with a surprise. " l know this fight is very special for you Stephiene, so we hired the best designer to make your outfit for your match of Friday. Take it look." I was confused I already had my outfit picked out, I went to get the box and unwrapped it.
I couldn't believe it, I was my green and blue outfit that I wear for my first ever match! I was bigger and more updated, but one design made it more better. In the middle of shorts were some small words that said Sé cambia's todo a tu alrededor, dentro de ti todo cambia. This made my day, and I knew I was ready to kick ass on Friday night.
Will I win the fight?
