Championship day was here. I was excited but also nervous like always. I entered the Arena. Lots of people were there blocking the entrance to the Arena. It was a sold night actually, nah just playing with y'all I wasn't that famous yet. But there was lots of people going inside.
I was going to my locker room changing to my new outfit and my father wrapping my hands with boxing tape and putting my blue and green gloves. I was thinking when they were preparing for my warm up. I was think win this match with a KO.
My father told me to calm down and practices because there were only 30 minutes left before my fight is up. I saw the leather glove that my coach was putting on so I can use to practice on. I punched them as hard as I could, leaving other watching me warm up.
The time has come. I saw my opponent on the other side of the ring, she was black. They originally told me that my opponent was 5'10 but when I was her, she was 6'2 or 6'3. I was 5'11. I was so damn short for her.
The referee started to introduce us. " In the blue corner, weighing 120 pounds, won 17 match and one lost, coming back from her terrible injury, gave it up for Stephiene Garcia." I was jumping around with my hands up so people can see who I was.
Then he introduced my opponent her name was Oliva Johnson. She was very muscular but I knew I could handle her. I went to my corner where my coaches were and my family telling my, " Sé cambia's todo a tu alrededor, dentro de ti todo cambia." I listen to them all. Then I kneel down in my corner and started to pray. I was thanking God for giving me another opportunity to fight again, making my aunts promise alive again.
The bell rang for the first round. We came out and I was absolutely full of adrenaline. I was moving well over the place. I went inside her good and got her with some good shots to the body and couple good ones to the chin. She got me with a few good jabs but nothing big.
I won the first round. Then the second round came. I was doing the same thing early the second round, moving well, getting good shots to the body and head. But then I tripped over something, I don't know if she stepped on my toe or what, but she didn't hit me and I tripped and stumbled back but I didn't not go down.
The ref stopped the fight and gave me a standing eight count. That was a terrible job of reffing. During the eight seconds, I kept thinking to myself that I was okay. I knew I wasn't hurt or anything. I just kept on saying Sé cambia's todo a tu alrededor, dentro de ti todo cambia in my mind to help me.
So I went all on it again. Continue to fight on. The round has finished. I was heading to my corner, to get more strategies again. The bell rang and I was ready. In this match there were 8 rounds.
It was the 6 round already nothing happen to me yet but her face was fucked up lol. Anyways, It was time to end it. Round 7 started, I went in a rush working on my jabs and others moves. I was really to do the crossover strategy. I came closer to her and closer. I was getting hit but it didn't affect me to much. Suddenly, I did the crossover on her but it work. But then I did the counterpunch, which made my whole arm so hard that when I hit her face she automatically went going to the floor and feint.
I WON I BASICALLY WON. There was nothing to do. She fiend, she didn't open her eyes. They had to take her out on the ring fast as possible.
When they did, the celebration was happening. " Know presenting you new champion of the California middle league weight, Stephiene Garica!" The owner from the arena present me my belt, I know God heard my prayer, if my aunt was here she would have been so proud of me. My family ran across the ring to receive me with hugs. Even Gabriel came up to me! Hugging me and tell me great job little champ.
I was proud of myself. Thanks to my father phrase, " Sé cambia's todo a tu alrededor, dentro de ti todo cambia," I'll never would have win.
