Amara gripped her steering wheel as she drove down the tree lined road on the way back to the Siegmund estate. She finally found a free day outside of school and work to join him for a tour. She shifted in the seat as the fluttering in her stomach increased. She knew it wasn't a date or at least not in the strict sense but there was so many things that made Thor endearing.
She had googled him after her friend and roommate Kate urged her after she filled her friend in of their encounter. He was the fruit of two ancient European noble and royal trees rooted in England and Scandinavia. His family owned their stately palace for centuries. It wasn't his pedigree that hit her so much as his divine looks came to mind.
A full beard covered his chiseled jaw. She recalled his gentle and penetrating blue eyes. His long sandy hair was tied back in a ponytail. Few lucky strands floated flew in the wind. He was five great inches away from her five foot ten. His deep voice could melt the most thick walls of ice, laced with a British accent.
That moment by the lake, she was attracted to his desire for peace and nature. He was dressed in a fitting suit that probably was more than her weekly paycheck. And there he was, content and carefree. She could see in his eyes that he was kind and thoughtful. There was still a tingle on her hand where he kissed it. She had washed her hands many times since the party and it still lingered. She giggled as she recalled him breathlessly asking for her number after he ran to catch her.
Amara came to focus as she saw the first walled gate. The butterflies furiously fluttered as she approached the second gate.
"Just breathe," she whispered as she pulled into the parking lot next to the vast estate.
