Their shoes found themselves back on their feet as they walked slowly to the parking lot. As they approached her car, Amara turned around to her handsome host.
"So," her voice trailed of. "The day ends here, I guess."
"Hmm." Thor looked down at the gravel before facing her. "I'd like to take you out, Amara. A night in London or anywhere near and around. A restaurant, perhaps. Anywhere you'd like to go. We can get to know each other even more."
"I'd like that." Amara beamed at him. He stepped closer and Amara met his lips with hers. At the same time, a cloud blocking the sun moved away, revealing the star. Its light sent cascading warmth onto the liplocked couple. They broke the kiss, their eyes lingering on each other for a moment.
"See you then," Thor asked in a whisper.
Amara nodded. "See you then."
She clicked the button on her key and opened the door. Thor pulled it wide enough for her to get in. She casted a thankful smile at him that stayed with him as the door closed. She gave a coy wave goodbye which Thor returned. He backed away a few steps as the engine turned on. The car backed away and went down the path out. Thor watched as she drove away with dejection. A tingle vibrated in his lips as the memory of her kiss emerged suddenly. He smiled at the promise of another day with her.
...
Amara drove down the road. She didn't feel like she was driving. The whole day felt like a dream, a beautiful reverie. The tingling on her lips confirmed the corporeality of the day. His musk lingered in her nose. His captivated gaze was imprinted in her mind. Her phone rang, appearing on the Bluetooth car app. It was Kate.
"Hey," Kate's voice rang on the car's speakers. How'd it go?"
She sighed breathlessly. "Where to start?" A giggle bubbled out of her throat as she felt like a schoolgirl about to spill her day with her best friend.
