After the night that Charles had fighted with a Hollow by borrowing Shinigami powers from Rica, she lost powers eventually. Charles immediately perform Konsou or Soul Burial to a young child spirit as Rica advised to him and they go back in their home.
Its morning then, "GOOD MORNING, CHARLES!!!" Charles had frightfully awaken by a sudden attack of his father and he asked his father how's his sisters and they were preparing their breakfast. While eating, Charles confusing how can see such spiritual beings like Rica that was a Shinigami and she amazed him on his showing full strength to defeat a Hollow and Rica had disappeared, also he learn ritual of soul burial called Konsou that a soul of human being transcending to Soul Society. After he done eating, he go to the school together with Jonar Kojima and Romemarc Asano that he ask somebody to go enjoy after their class but everyone refuses.
When they came to their school, they go to their room at CA section, Charles wonders why Rica is there, and she's waiting in her gigai or faux body for her powers to return while he expresses fightening and tends to run away but before he run, Rica holds his uniform apart then she pulling outside their room for some matters, about her identity and their aim that don't tell it to anyone. She meet Angela Arisawa, Menchie Inoue, Christine Honshou, Brian Yasutora and other boys including Jonar and Romemarc. When she meet them, Romemarc has a crush of her and asking for their date after their class, but Charles gave him a punch and said "He has so many girlfriends."
After their class, everyone going home including Charles and Rica. Tonight, Menchie has searching some stuff and she found an old brother's picture frame named Marvin Inoue but he was died. She remembers that tragic incident since she was eight years old. Long time ago, Marvin promised to her that he always take care, protect, assist and love her anything happens; also they're aldready abandoned by their parents. That time while in vacation place somewhere in Bulacan, Menchie's doll was dropped to the river and taken away by the flow, however his brother had bought her a flower hair clip as her souvenir and remembering him wherever she goes before they go back to Baesa. Suddenly, when they're in home, Menchie heard a strange voice that calls her, she follows and she saw the two people standing at the center of highway, she come to it to see but when an overspeeding car rapidly approaches, Marvin see her crossing and save her by pushing her back but unexpectedly, his brother has bumped by a car; seems to be in critical condition when he almost thrown away and Menchie running to him and checking his condition, "Are you alright?! Please don't leave me alone, you can resist it. You're promise me to not leave me at my side, fight it!" she say it while crying and rescuers came to take him immediately to the nearest hospital. But while they've arrived in hospital, Marvin has died. A driver of that car came there to give a medical assistance and apologize that he did it because of recklessness driving.

On that next day, Rica grabbed her Soul Smartphone called Denreishinki but following the trend of modern smartphones not only functions for calling of sending messages, also it has a GPS to track Hollows and show their location, and has a WiFi to search the information of Hollows and cases. And it ringing, a Hollow located nearby Menchie's house. Rica and Charles immediately go there and they've seen Menchie is lying down at the ground, Rica ask her "Why are you lying there? Is someone hurts you well?" she answer that no one hurts her and she's fine. Rica confusing why that Hollow quickly disappeared with seeing a mark at her left limb.
When night time comes, Menchie and Angela are in her home and talking while doing their homeworks but, a Hollow comes cloaking to attack, and repeatedly saying "Menchie... I need you!", they're screaming and embracing each other then Menchie asks "Why you know my name? Who are you?" then a Hollow repeating what he say. Charles came with Rica to stop that Hollow from attacking them but he seems to be difficult to fight because of an opponent's quickness moving and attacking, they're combating. Therefore, in a single smash of his Zanpakutou, a small part of it's Hollow mask shattered and an eye has showed that he could identify it, but it escaped.
Charles confusing that who's at the behind of that Hollow mask? Isn't Menchie's brother?
