After Charles and Rica saved Menchie and resurrected Marvin's soul, Brian is hanging out at vacant lot with his two friends Mandy and Carl handing a parakeet inside of its cage, and it wonders that a parakeet can speak. But a falling alloy bar sees by his friends and a bird creates a noise, so Brian stops it fall to save them including the bird but his shoulder and head bleeds. That bird say thanks to him but, his friends requesting to leave that bird behind because they believe that is cursed, he refused and that bird introduce its name, Jeric Shibata. One of his friends says that Brian is interested in that parakeet.
In Hueco Mundo, Hollows are debating about eating souls. The first side says the human souls are delicious, and the second side says that the Shinigami souls are most delicious.
Next day morning, Menchie noticed a letter on their table while putting their plates and she read it. Then, in a letter states that her brother's diary was in the attic of their house so she want to go there to get before, the attic is dusty but less risky so she climb there and got that thing. She read a diary and found an ATM card and passbook. They're eating after changing her school dress immediately and done eating, 7:30 AM, they go to Metrobank and she insert an ATM to check a balance and they're got hair-raised when they see the whole amount of balance, it cost P250 million but she withdraw only P10,000 for her needs in school fees, house maintenance, food and health care.
While walking through the school, Menchie notice Brian that he brings a bird in a cage then she calls him and said, "Brian. Your parakeet is cute. Is that yours?" Menchie was asked and complimented him about that bird, Brian tells that he can speak but remains him mystery in his feeling. "Realy?" When they are in school, everyone notices Brian's bird and someone compliments, but anybody says that is cursed. Rica feels that bird that it needs help so he call Charles and ask "Have you notice that bird? I seem that is a soul of a human possess in that parakeet." Charles notices too and they go to Brian to ask "Brian, where you get that bird? Have a mystery inside of it?" he answer yes and he introduce his name Jeric. Then they go on rooftop.
Rica asked to Charles those things about their real world especially the juice drink, he answer that just pierce the straw on the gray spot and sip it. That juice was from Jonar and he paid him. Someone says to them that they're real couple but Charles denied it because, they're only friends, but Romemarc comes to join their lunch, he joins him and he expresses his feelings to Rica but Charles had already cautioned her that guy is a player and have a multiple girlfriends like one of the multiple GF's is Abegail. Also Brian join to them with a parakeet, he feeds it and taking care of it, Rica is still suspecting that to bird in her mind. They continue their lunch, while doing it she call Charles to perform a Konsou to that bird to avoid such an evil creatures like Hollows.
In that night, they've seen Brian is injured so Gillian and Stephanie take him to Kurosaki Clinic that is their home, together with that parakeet that taken also inside. Matthew alarmed that they have one patient and they're helping to cure Brian's wound and fractures, after a few hours Gillian feels suspicious to the parakeet and seems that has a soul possess in it so she saying, "No way! Is that Jeric?" Few hours later, Brian and that birds has gone that noticed by Stephanie and Matthew, they asked that where they going. Gillian cannot sleep because his childhood friend Jeric was died because of the incident of a native Filipino crime done by the "Akyat-bahay" syndicates and having a high fever. So, she wake up in a morning and she search Charles to save Jeric's soul in parakeet.
Charles and Rica searching for Brian and that parakeet but they cannot see it so, Charles has a ability to search a soul by detecting soul's thread that doing by the higher Shinigami officer as Rica thought. And he touches a string of Jeric's soul and they follow it. But when Brian hiding in a abandoned factory with a parakeet, he tells Brian that save him by leave him behind to avoid further bad fates, Charles and Rica planned to separated in a two ways to search them, But Rica encounter a Hollow that uncloaks itself and she perform the Kidou spell by incantating the spell Hadou #33: Soukatsui, "Kunrinsha yo! Chiniku no kamen, banshō, habataki, hito no na o kansu mono yo! Shinri to sessei, tsumi shirame yume no kabe ni wazuka ni tsume o tate yo! Hado no 33: Soukatsui!". But a Hollow resisted it and said, ""Is that a Shinigami spell? How dare you, but you can't take me down by that spell. Hahahahaha! Don't block my way or else, also I eat you." Finally, Gillian found tired and having a fever by Charles and said, "Please save my childhood friend Jeric. I'm counting of you." Then he caught her and run to Brian to save Jeric.
