Fairytale Saviors

Chapter 7.

We all gaped at him for a second before we realized what he was planning.

The guard sputtered for a second, "You want to court Princess Joanne?"

Henry nodded, "Yes, I would like to court Princess Joanne." Henry said saying the Princess' name weirdly as if trying out a new retainer.

"Follow me,"the guard said cautiously turning around and leading us to the gate.

He paraded us into the castle and straight into the throne room where a man was slouching on the chair, elbow on the arm of the throne and his hand thrown over his eyes.

"Sire?"the guard asked as we approached the throne.

"What?"the man demanded.

"Uh...this man, he would like to court your daughter, sire."the guard said nervously.

"What?"the man asked again looking up.

His eyes widened when he saw all six of us standing there. I pushed Henry forward.

"I would like to court Princess Joanne, sire."Henry said giving a little bow.

"You do?"the man asked incredibly.

"Yes, King..."Henry's voice trailed off.

"King Archibald, but you may call me father, what's your name?"asked King Archibald while practically running towards Henry.

"Henry, sire,"Henry said.

"Let me show you to Joanne,"the King said excitedly.

We started following Henry but the King stopped and looked at us, "Who are these gentlemen?"King Archibald asked Henry.

"My companions. We are also here on business. Princess Rapunzel has gone missing."Henry said.

"Princess Rapunzel? I do not know of this woman,"King Archibald said taking a step back so he could look at us all.

"She is Prince Slade's bride-to-be."Jeb said.

"Prince Slade?"King Archibald said looking back and forth between Henry and Jeb.

"Yes,"Henry said softly.

"You work for Slade?"King Archibald said in disgust taking another step back.

"Yes,"Monty said.

Archibald turned towards Henry, "I can't allow you to court my daughter, I'm sorry."

"Fine, but we need help finding the princess. This has nothing to do with your past feuds." Henry said as Archibald started walking away.

"Please, we need your help,"Jeb asked.

"Why?"Archibald asked.

Not like Henry just told you, I thought grumpily. This was the worst way to spend a Saturday.

"Princess Rapunzel has been captured, we don't know how to find her and we need your help,"Henry said.

He looked almost appealing, I almost didn't want to punch him.

King Archibald seemed to be debating whether or not to help us. Finally, he sighed, "Fine."

"Really?"Boyd asked in disbelief before I elbowed him in the gut.

He grunted and stepped on my foot. I smacked him in the chest, Boyd smacked me upside the head. Before I was about to punch him in the throat and Boyd was about to knock me over, Monty stepped in between us shooting glaring. If looks could cut glass...

"Thank you, sire."Henry said.

"Follow me,"Archibald said turning around and leading us away from where he had been leading Henry.
