Finally
So finally every good thing must come to an end. To conclude I had my own observations about how it could have been better. Let me put that down then conclude just as Raja Mouli did with the movie.
A complex twist?
Baahubali once he is expelled could make a statement in court and can then be construed as he is going to split the kingdom. He could say "There is no justice or dharmam so I need to search for to find or maybe be a finder of a rajya a Dharmapuri. Where people and king rules on principles of dharma not history. Not fame but on reality and justice. I go forth to seek that Dharmapuri."
And maybe people, the army and ministers splitting and saying to support and even go to Baahubali if he forms a new kingdom. While Amarendra Baahubali is torn into two and is not having a clear idea of what to do. He is convinced that he cannot expect justice or even love. Then Kunthala and Kumara Varma tell him to form his own kingdom and offers support, wealth and people.
So comes Sivagaami Devi's hour of dilemma as some ministers, advisors, King Bhallala Deva and Bijjala Deva exhort Sivagaami to think of eliminating Baahubali. In this scenario she feels he is a traitor to the kingdom. Even Kattappa has no choice when presented with the scenario.
The 'rajya' the great kingdom is facing a destruction a split all that they stood for comes to face and end. Then the story can go the way forward same. Kumara Varma can be killed trying to save Devasena accompanying her to the palace same way or maybe stabbed from behind while fighting Bhallala Deva by Bijjala Deva.
The other part has an element of stubborn and stupidity of Sivagaami Devi the shrewd, sensible and intelligent leader. Baahubali who never even showed a sign of rebellion or remorse to give up the kingdom or the Senapati title or even to being expelled, trying to kill Bhallala Deva for what? There is the people and army who support him , he could take over without any issues, why kill Bhallala Deva his brother.
End could be ...
End could have been made simpler but stronger. Kattappa getting Aslam Khan to provide arms and maybe even a small well equipped army. Maybe even balloons or same concept of flying in with help of balloon or parachute like things using the catapults just like how it was done in first part by Amarendra Baahubali to fire and kill Kaalakeya army :)
If we go fantastic let us go a bit pragmatic also than the palm tree and shield and catapulting without accuracy and reliability. Also remember such a landing for anyone other than Kattappa or Baahubali could be catastrophic. But using balloon like thing or creating similar with two catapult missiles attached to clothes and launched and floating down can carry a more reliable end, what say friends???
And it would be more colorful and spectacular as visuals and special effects goes. It would be a bit more realistic than the shield business I felt and special effects wise would be superb and better managed. The palms being shorter than the walls was not realistic for the arc of firing I felt :)
Partial rebellion
Just as the people came running and joined Mahendra some portion of the army should have also rebelled. After all many loved his father as the commander - Senapathi Amarendra Baahubali. They could have opened the doors also or joined in fight with Mahendra Baahubali. The fight could have shown a bit more balanced and logical as a whole.
Even in part one when a soldier sees Mahendra and some part of army when people call out Baahubali during the statue scene there are supporters or respect towards Baahubali or even fear. So when in battle they see Baahubali some should have ran away in fear or some surrendered or joined. Logically that should happen right?
Some possibilities for a prequel?
There are some questions unanswered and can form a prequel. Baahubali is the name Sivagaami calls, then how it became Amarendra? So let us assume there was an Amarendra Baahubali an ancestor. Let us link him to Kattappa's ancestor and that can be a story for why his family promised to serve the simhasan or the king. It can be an answer to a question by Mahendra and Kattappa can say "Your father Amarendra asked me and I told him the story and it goes back 125 years ..." :)
Nice dialogue and has a similar ring to his explanation to Mahendra about his father and Mahishmathi.
Also Bijjala Deva why he surrenders to Sivagaami even though he is ambitious to be king? Maybe the character he displays was the reason early? Maybe he had done similar to the dirty trick in a more direct way to his brother? The sudden demise of King Virendra the real reason is known to Sivagaami and maybe the hand behind it is Bijjala Deva? More literally than figuratively? Scope for a prequel?
Conclude...
Let me conclude, Baahubali has fired the imagination and senses of all film lovers in many ways. The opulence, the characters, the story, the technology, the magnificence and the acting. It was a magnum opus for Indian cinema in many ways.
So let us conclude .. there maybe greater movies to come and in future even greater things maybe there but till now there was nothing like Baahubali. Until a greater one comes Baahubali rules in the minds of all cinema goers and lovers of great and epic movies.
To Baahubali a great and epic movie a path breaking one for Indian movie history...
Something which will be talked about for a generation and generations to come maybe...
A thing of pride and joy for Indian movie lovers...
BAAHUBALI ..... MAY IT REMAIN FOREVER IN THE ANNALS OF INDIAN AND WORLD MOVIE HISTORY...
